Thanks for the update.14.4 points a game is ok, but only 18% from the free throw line is pretty bad.

All of those %'s are wrong. But they're still not very good.

Those percentages arn't looking so good, but when Steve was down for one of his stretches last year( I believe it was the foot problem) Oscar had really stepped up in a time of need. Then again we didn't win but one of those games but Oscar had some games where he was scoring a little more or right around 20pts a game. I believe he could still help the team, just give him some time. ;)

Here are Torres' numbers from FIBA.

    Name G Min M/A % M/A % M/A % O D Tot As PF TO St BS Pts Avg
    Torres, O. 5 161 16/36 44.4 4/18 22.2 28/37 75.7 3 26 29 16 14 13 9 0 72 14.4

It looks like his FG% is 44.4% not 39% and his 3pt% is 22.2% not 18%.

Anyways, those numbers are not bad at all. Playing against international competition. I like Torres's chances making the team.

I think it was Mobley's ankles that got hurt, and that caused Oscar to play.

You are right about the stretch though.

I never expected Oscar to be good. It's just when your favorite young team (Rockets:D)shows signs of becoming great, and players are going good, people tend to make players more than what they are like Oscar in the beginning of last season. You just get excited. But anyway, this open up a space for a SG. Like I said in another post I would love to see this spot go to George Williams, he young, bigtime athletic, and hungry. Hey CD, give him a chance.

I would like to see George Williams get a chance somewhere but here is not the place. He has the size of a 2 guard and the game of a power forward. He needs to go to the developmental league and work on his game for a few seasons and then maybe he'll get a chance in the NBA.

    COMPAQ CENTER,

Thanks for the correct stats. Those numbers are not bad. All that's missing is the 3 point percentage but it's a small sample size. I have faith that Oscarrr will be just fine as Cat's backup.

with raja bell signed in europe, and the jazz wanting too much in a sign-and-trade for russel, i tihnk the best options are either vashon lenard or torres.

You guys are VASTLY overrating FG%, considering that OT is prob the only reliable scoring option for his country.

Does Yao Ming stink because he can only get 6 shots in a game? No...

Ditto for OT in this case. When you are the only scoring option, that means you are going to take those tough shots when the shot clock is down to 1.
