Steve is now being secured as a Rocket for the next few years.
So does anyone know what is the situation of Kenny Thomas's contract?

How bout we say we did and just not. I think the PF spot is the most unsure spot on this team, We dont know who is going to stay and who is going to leave, who play, who wont play. MAN this suspense is killing me!

One theory is that the coaching staff will keep both MoT and KT for training camp and thru the first couple months of the regular season - and then attempt to trade the one who doesn't fit the team needs as well as the other.

I could see that happening. You dont think they would give him a huge contract i.e. Matt Maloney?

Whatever happens, I wish the best to both Mo Taylor and Kenny Thomas and hope they find good situations with some team, if not with the Rockets. I'd keep both if we could.

I like Kenny too, but I think he'll be moved. I think Mo Taylor is better. The only thing Mo doesn't do better than Kenny is rebound, but with more bulk, he can work on that. Kenny has one major disadvantage: he's a 6'7" power forward, which is very undersized. So with Taylor, Griffin and Thomas at the 4 spot, I think Thomas is the odd man out.

i think Kenny is better than Mo T, because we have Steve and cat, we just need someone who can defense and get some rebounds
considering Mo T's 8.0 million, i prefer Kenny than Mo T.....

but we have eddies D, and with KT's height his defence isn't as good as anyone elses.

Stevie, you've said this before. I understand an honest disagreement about who's better -- Mo or Kenny -- for the team, but I can't think of any reason at all to hate Kenny. He plays as hard as anyone on the team, he has a great attitude and he's improved every year he's played in the NBA. I'd go with Mo as the starter too, but I am dumbfounded as to why anyone would actually hate him. I actually think he's about the least hateable guy on our team. Please explain your position before you say this again.

i hate him because he is a whining crying, dumb, ballhoging, predicatable, pouting, same traveling spin move, broke shot player.

with mo he can't help his injury but he is a soft non reboundin player. he has a lot less flaws than kenny.

And keeny is ugly too naaa:p

Very compelling. Really. I mean, now I hate him too. Good job.

Again, I think Mo's more promising, but KT has played way above his natural level out of sheer effort and hard work. Whether or not he stays with the Rockets, he deserves every good thing that happens for him. He has earned it. You're a plain old hata who isn't even smart enough to aim his hate at someone who deserves it. Bo-ring.

Any chance you'll just, like, go away? Right. Didn't think so...

I really like Kenny Thomas. He is a dedicated player, came to camp ultra slim and in game shape last year. He was rumored to have a weight problem , and through dicipline - he controls it. He is consistent on an inconsistent team.

He reminds me of Charles BArkley - rebounding throug hard work and will-though he is often at a height disadvantage. This guy was a good pick by CD and Rudy. I wish we could keep him, but unfortunately-due to Mo T contract and then drafting Eddie, he is the odd man out.

If I am going to be a hata like Steve Francis - the post earlier- I will hate the Glen Rice Contract, Matt Maloney signing, and Charles Barkley coming to camp 35 lb over weight..........

The only reason I want to get rid of KT is because it's much harder to get rid of Mo and stupid to get rid of Eddie. KT is the man!

thats not going to work if KT wants more than houston can give him.. and if he does sign up.. would KT start?.. just to add value if the rocks do trade him, because hes not going to be the same player off the bench..

I would rather us move Mo. He has an amazing outside shot, but we already have Francis, Mobley, Rice, and Nachbar for that, and Yao and Griffin will probably be taking a lot of outside shots as well. I would prefer to keep Kenny because his game isn't based on outside shooting, he can be used to cause match up problems and vary the offense.

Kenny is our new Mario Ellie. Every team needs a mentally tough guy like KT whose work ehic keeps the other guys honest. I can think of one game in particular where we were losing by quite a bit and KT committed a hard foul when the other team was showboating and hitting shot after shot with no pressure. The Rockets made a big comeback after KT woke them up.

KT is a great backup. Get rid of him only if some other team is willing to way overpay him.

As for stevie who just hates him.............

I strongly agree with DrLudicrous. Keep Kenny and deal Mo when his health improves and he is a tradable commodity. Kenny is a very physical, intimidating player who will help Ming and Griffin in the post play. He reminds me a lot of Barkley's tough attitude. He will give us intangible advantages with match up problems for other teams. Kenny is very quick and mobile as well as strong. I like these kinds of players- physical- Othella Harrington, Ben Wallace type.

Kenny is the real thing - he has proven his dedication to me.

What do you think of that Steve Francis - Kenny hater???
