This must have been an early viral marketing push for the Taco Bell thing I'm guessing, via Ball Don't Lie who got it from SI writer Twitter: Ball Don't Lie post: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ba...in-1995-I-want-you-one-on-one-?urn=nba-259999 lock if already posted btw.
Luckily, the pair soon discovered common ground. <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/JnyWar8uOTI&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/JnyWar8uOTI&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Thankfully the two titans buried the hatchet over a cheaply made taco from a greedy corporation nationally in a very disturbing commercial of peewee hats and bicycle! XD
Looking back at these two great bigs, one has to wonder... how many rings would Hakeem have had if he played with someone like Wade or Kobe in his prime. By the time we got Drexler, he was still really good, but he definitely lost some athleticism.
If this is real, then it rocks. Can you imagine Hakeem covered in championship champagne, wearing his NBA champs hat, and him reading this in the locker room? lol Shaq was only 22 and immature, and it looks like they made peace over taco bell food. Still funny anyway.
this pissed me off back then....i actually wanted to see it happen and then to see the way it played out..lame. i dont remember if taco bell was behind it all along or came in later to profit from it, but it still was disappointing.

i'm beginning to remember more of it, there was an actual date set and everything....which pissed me off even more because it seemed legit
They were also supposed to have a few other matchups on the card. I remember at the very least they were going to have a Spud Webb and I think Mugsy Bogues matchup for the "lightweight."
yeah i never believed that....could have been easily re-scheduled if it was true, yet it never happened.
