My buddy and his family want to join my family on a one-night trip to central Texas.

    4 adults
4 children over 6 yrs old
2 children under 6 yrs old.

We're trying to find a place to stay for $300 a night or less for the whole group (we'll split the price). Preferably some kind of cabin, bed & breakfast....I dunno.

I can find very few places in that price range, and they all require a minimum stay of two or three nights.

    Any recommendations?

Well, my mom runs a bed and breakfast out in Wimberley, but I don't think it can accomodate ten people.

Camp Warnecke townhomes on Comal next to New Braunfels is a really good time. Gotta get your reservations in advance though, they fill up.

Just came back from a trip to San Antonio and surrounding area. Went to Gruene (pronounced Greene), Texas. Quaint little town that had some nice bed a breakfasts. The Guadalupe River is right there as well and they rent tubes, etc to float the river.

you guys are obviously trying to budget, so a kitchen (less expensive than going out to eat) is always nice. Look at www.vrbo.com and www.homeaway.com for vacation rentals. Your biggest issue though might be minimum stay requirements. Some owners don't care to deal with a one night rental.
