Heat at Cavs would be big on Christmas Day. Especially if it would be the first time the Heat and Cavs play each other, let alone the first time LeBron comes back to Cleveland. Other picks that day:

Rockets at Lakers or Celtics at Lakers
    Thunder at Blazers

This is so dumb. Just release the freaking schedule.

This is more lame than "The Decision"

Nothing is more lame than "The Decision." But this might come close.

Having the Heat open in Cleveland would be fantastic theater, but it won't happen. The Heat will play another marquee team.

if heat plays cavs in the opener, it'll be heat v. lakers for christmas day.

but there are so many marquee games with the heat

    heat v cavs
    heat v knicks
    heat v bulls
    heat v raptors
    heat v lakers
    heat v celtics/magic

ESPN should broadcast every heat game for god sakes

Opening night I'd like to see the Heat play the Lakers, but I think LA will play Boston.

I think they need to let the Heat/Lakers thing stew for a while and bring back the Heat/Lakers Christmas Day tradition, preferably in LA. Then they should meet again in March when the ratings lift would be needed.

In all honesty, opening night games don't need to be off the charts matchups because NBA fans are so excited for things to get started. Whoever the Heat playing to open the season will draw record TV ratings. In fact, their first 10-15 games will be pure money. If they get off to a ridiculous start like the Celts did a couple of years ago, the Heat will carry the NBA. Some dedicated fans will get tired of seeing them so often while bandwagon fans will eat it up.

    I loooooooove the Cleveland idea.

Are you kidding me? I may not like how it all went down, but I'm watching every f-ing Miami game I can (if the Rox aren't on), if only to root against them. That team is super-compelling. Man, this will be the NBA's highest rated season in forever.

Maybe the Cavs will only face non-Boston/Orlando/Heat opponents this season in order to make the playoffs and force a compelling storyline. That would be interesting. :p
