So this is this dude's ultimate starting lineup: Johnson Jordan Bird Duncan Russell Take out Russell and replace him with Hakeem and you got yourself the perfect lineup.
equal defender/better offensively/worse rebounder but played in a era where there were lots of 6'11-7 footers hakeem wasn't the all around defensive dominant force that Russell was, but I truly think if you put Hakeem in Russell's era he would have been just as dominant.* *i may be a bit biased

It's really hard to pick a center for the all time team, much harder than any other position. One can make a legit case for 5 guys: Russell, Wilt, Kareem, Shaq, and Hakeem. People go with Russell because of his rings. I have no problem with that.
The thing is, if you likely have Magic, Bird and Jordan—three of the greatest offensive players of all time, why in the world would you need more offense? There's only one ball to go around. I'd want someone like Russell who doesn't need the ball to be effective, and he covers Magic and Bird's defensive deficiencies. It's not just "because of the rings."
