Him laughing at Barrett and coming up big in the 2005 NLCS are my two favorite memories of him.

The impact he had on the Astros in 2001 was just awesome.

Roy's my favorite player ever... I'll at least have someone to root for if the Phillies can make the playoffs.

Remember that his goal was to win 15 games in 2001? He kept that as his goal, even as the team assigned him to (then AA) Round Rock coming out of ST.

RE: 2005 NLCS -- my favorite moment is the Pujols K in the first inning. Man, he made Pujols look silly on strike 3. Awesome.

Roy was my favorite Astro of this decade. Quiet, tough-nosed, bulldog approach. I loved watching him pitch. I just wish he could have delivered a win the World Series game I saw him in. Best of luck Wiz!

I certainly always loved watching Roy pitch. His mechanics were so explosive and his bulldog mentality was great for the team. I sure hope he comes back to get the win record and retire an Astro.

 

One of the top Astros of all-time, period. Really wish we stayed competitive and let him retire here. Happy that they're doing the right thing and giving him a shot before he declines.

 

I hope he gets a ring in the next year or two.
