lol, yeah, I was in a hurry to post it and I realized that once I posted it. But yeah, i'm suprised Morey managed to get some good value off of a guy who is a really poor mans Andrea Bargnani
It's somewhat surprising that the Rockets didn't have to give up a second round pick to get Andersen's salary off their hands, but they got a second round pick instead.
Well, knowing that Morey has made some incredible things happen in the second round, this is a pretty awesome move. Andersen wouldn't have seen much playing time here anyway with Yao, Miller, and Hayes, so at least he has a chance to play a bit more in Toronto.
Not that it matters since we signed Miller, but this makes it really bizarre that the Chandler trade fell through. The only hurdle to that, that I recall, was Toronto's reluctance to take on salary from Houston. If they are willing to take Andersen, why not then? That said, I'm pleased with Brad so no worries... just curious.
Good point. We gave Atlanta our (presumably crappy) second round pick to get him; then we have his services for a year that we were in desperate need of size; then we trade him for Toronto's (presumably good) second round pick. In summation, the David Andersen experiment was worth the while.
it's no suprise at all. he can't get any playtime after yao back. pf and sf are two areas morey will take actions, either trading to get an elite player or trying to get under luxury tax threshold, during the season.
