Ok many of you guys throw out trade ideas, and should we pick up this guy or this guy, but i say NO! The team is set, and even with CP3 available, or Delonte possibly, the roster is set and we don't need to gut the team to get a star, and we don't need a guy that is older that adds nothing new to the team. There is nothing out there that is worth trying , unless one of our guys goes down. I actually love the roster at the moment, and like our chances, barring injuries to be very competitive. The team is under the radar, but it will not be long before teams realize what a threat we are. A lot of people forget we have Martin as he only played about 24 games, and Trevor will be back to his comfortable role, Battier will be back to his role, Ming will give good help defense, the backups are solid players, Scola is a sure 15 10 guy..What I'm getting to , is stop with the should we go after, or how about, should we trade for, because after the signing of Miller, the team is set and Who is with me, that we are ready to roll?
there's a poll with 3 options and my post explains the poll. what's not to get.. many peeps still believe we need more to win a championship and everyday i log on i see a sasha available, cp3, rudy, ramon sessions it kinda gets old so im just saying the team is set. no need for these other posts of guys we don't need.
True but the fact remains if we dont improve in certain spots then we have not so glaring holes in the roster. We are putting tons of pressure on Bud/Taylor/Hill/Patterson to play well if our main men go down, and frankly they have shown decent ability but not enough to carry a team...
Wow nice thread. In response to the question, i think the team as it is now is good enough to be competitive in the playoffs with the flexibility/assests to acquire a all-star calibre player come trade deadline.
With these options I dont really sound sure of myself? Its like I can't make a decisive decision? I wish a part of me inside would just man up and be able to assert my decision instead of questioning it so much? What am I going to do?????????
I guess it's too damn hard to ignore a thread? Crapping on everything you don't like seems to be so overplayed.
I picked "ready to roll". With this new information on Yao, it doesn't make sense to trade away young talent. If we trade for another all-star and Yao ends up quitting after the season then the Rockets are somewhat screwed. They would be left left with only 1 star with less supporting cast than Yao had. I wouldn't mind getting another quality FA, but only if its for a low cost. We won 42 games last year, and our center this year will be 1 foot taller than our center last year. Lets go to war with these guys while developing our young guys such as Budinger, Hill, Patterson, and Taylor.
I understand what you are saying freddy, but discussions of these players and their availabilty or how they could fit on our current Rockets team gives us something to talk about. I mean what else are we going to talk about which player each poster has a man crush on or what Aldeman had for breakfast? Don't be to bothered by it. Simply put it is people posting their thoughts on a discussion forum, nothing else. GO ROCKETS!!!
This. But we'll need to acquire 2 All-Stars to breakthrough AND be safe. Possible? Who knows. That's Morey's job.
