Over the last few years i have been losing hair ......... I have been getting #0 , #1 haircuts .... but now I am thinking very soon i might need to shave my Head completely .

I am wondering about a place in Houston that is good and relatively cheap where i can get a barber to shave my head ? Thanks in advance !

And if anyone here does get their head shaven at a haircut place , how often do you have to go in for "maintenance"?

    P.S I don't mean that head :)

If you're already unhappy getting #0 (no guard, right) clipped, and you're ready to step your game up to a straight razor, wouldn't you pretty much have to shave/upkeep every day? If not, what's the point?

dude, just do it yourself. I've done it and its not that hard. Just have someone check for you when you are done to see if you missed a spot. If your hair is already at #1 or 0, then you're basically there already. Save the money and do it yourself with a razor. Its not that hard, there's no real way to "mess it up". Ive done it to myself twice, pretty straightforward.

Shaving your head every day is a tremendous hassle, and it's kind of a must to keep up the aesthetic. (If not with a razor everyday, most days of the week it will look like you just used clippers.)

Why not just spend five minutes, once a week, with electric clippers and no guard? Balding or not, nothing substantial will grow out in a week's time. You come out better on that end, with the time saved without the combing & hair gel & all.

I shaved my head back in college, and quickly learned three things:

    1. Having hair is highly overrated. The time, cost and effort saved by not having to wash or upkeep a hair style was awesome.

    2. Being bald was so comfortable, especially during the summer. It was really the best haircut I've ever had.

    3. I have a very, very unattractive skull. I mean, not even a little unattractive. We're talking Sam Cassell-levels of hideousness. Were it not for that, I'd probably still be bald.

It's not really any different than shaving your face. Do it once and you'll be used to it.

No more a hassle than shaving your face. Takes about one or two minutes longer. I do it about every three days, but I don't have the sort of job where I need to have a clean shave.

True enough, though I already despise shaving my face. I opt for the clippers once every week or two. Haven't owned a comb in years.

check the badger and blade forums if you want help with head shaving or shaving in general i guess....maybe it'll help to use a shaving brush or a different razor than what you use to shave you're face.

Do you have dense and thicker hair? If not, it'll probably be a piece of cake.

Just started shaving mine with a razor about 2 months ago. Shave my head once a week. It's not that big of a hassle as others have mentioned. My hair grows like a weed though. The thing I hate is that my head is a different color than the rest of my body so it looks like I have a grayish film on top of my head. I've tried walking around for hours in the sun, doing yard work, etc. but the top of my head never catches up.

Just got done shaving mine with a #2......try to keep it cut once a week.

Only way I would go completely bald, is if i was starting to recede.

....but I have a while before that happens. :)

    hopefully.

LOL at the the guy who says shaving their head daily is a hassle. How do you think a female feels with all the extra hair they have to shave daily? Shaving your head daily is not a hassle, being female shaving daily is a hassle.

    are you a female?

What exactly are these women shaving daily? I'm hoping not their face or their heads. I dont even think the majority of women shave their legs daily unless they're extremely grossed at the though of not having a recent shave. Most have very fine hair that's not dense at all. Very different from a guy's beard or hair on your head. They also have the option of putting on pants to cover up when they dont want to show their legs. In fact, i know some even get lazy and shave half their legs (yes, ladies, we know y'all do it). I can't imagine a guy shaving half his beard, half his head, or wearing a mask, especially when going to work. Wearing a hat is usually out of the question as well.
