There is no way that Kirilenko is an upgrade to this team over trevor or shane. Thats just the way it is. I think im more appauled by the fact that u stated C-Bud is more of a 2 than a 3. Thats just crazy talk. We all know he is naturally a 3 and he's playing out of position at 2. He played some minutes at 4 last year for crying out loud.
What does that have to do with anything? Kirilenko is no all star right now, i could care less if he went to the all star game 6 years ago. Battier: Stats don't show up but he means a lot to the team on defense, and leadership Ariza: Still young, with potential, can defend.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=29yy6m9 rockets get: danny granger pacers get: battier, A. johnson harris and taylor
so you're saying that if we put both of them together then theyare better than Kirilenko? i wasnt proposing getting rid of both...just one. And who is to say that kirilenko wouldnt mean alot to our team on defense? I think he would andhe would also have stats to show it.
IF...Yao really can't come back, I'd rather not see a year of Brad, David and Chuck. And IF Chris really does want out of NO and Portland is one of his destinations And IF Miller and Roy are on the outs with one of them having to go (Miller). Then... Rockets out: David Andersen, Aaron Brooks, Shane Battier, Jared Jeffries Rockets in: Emeka Okafor, Andre Miller, Rudy Fernandez Portland out: Andre Miller, Rudy Fernandez, Greg Oden, Portland #1 Portland in: Chris Paul, David Andersen New Orleans out: Chris Paul, Emeka Okafor New Orleans in: Greg Oden, Aaron Brooks, Shane Battier, Jared Jeffries, Portland #1 Which gives us: Okafor / Miller / Hayes (again assuming Morey knows that Yao is out or very limited) Scola / Hill / Patterson Ariza / Budinger / Harris or Johnson Martin / Fernandez / Taylor Miller / Lowry [Edit] Or they could make it as simple as Oden + Miller = Paul.
you mean we could sign Brooks next summer without adding to our luxury tax. Why would we trade him? Also AK47 could be a good bargaining chip at the trade deadline ,if he doesnt workout, just like Mcgrady was. This is a very low risk trade with potential high reward.
Great post once again. I see it exactly like that. And I am one of the few who actually still think Kirilenko is really good, he can be a terror on defense with his blocks and steals, he put up some crazy stat lines when he was on. Actually, if he were to sign a reasonable extension around Ariza's salary and if it were clear that we really had no chance to get Paul, I would kind of like this:
