That's not on the front page (yet) because I don't have enough to it, but I do know Orlando is "throwing feelers out at Mobley's people." Just an FYI, obviously only teams with cap room can and that leaves Chicago and Orlando. Oh yeah, did anyone find Mike Monroe's FOX Sports article ranking the free agents interesting when all he said on Austin Croshere was, "Don't be surprised if he ends up in Houston." ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
Since he is not considered in the top tier of Hill and Duncan, he wouldn't command the top dollar that they would get? If so, that would make it possible for Orlando to fit in two top tier and somebody from Cat's price range. Mango ------------------ Eat more spinach! Live long and prosper! Donate blood! oh no! Orlando is gonna gobble up every FA!!! Leave Mobes alone. At this point, I would be surprised if Croshere ended up in Houston. ------------------ No signature for you!
Someone tell Mobley that Duncan is a liar! Maybe they'll send us Doleac Crisco-I'd be more afraid of Thomas Hamilton doing that. ------------------ The more lefties on your team, the better. Mango, The current max. FA contract is $9.5M or $19M for two max. players. Mobley could get paid more by the Rockets right now, since the Magic have $22 Million available dollars. ------------------ The ClutchCity 500.
I'm not worried about Cat going to Orlando. He'll stay here. Rockets will make that priority number one. If I were the Magic, I'd do the same thing: have a plan B or C or D. Besides, they can re-sign Ron Mercer. We have a good shot at Austin Croshere. "I'd like to stay in Indiana," says he. Well, he's supposed to say that. I just wish I could think of a way to trade off Walt and get something of value -- even slight value -- in return. Austin would suit us best at small forward. ------------------
Achebe, There has been mention of a possible sign-n-trade for either Duncan or Hill to Orlando. If that would occur, then Orlando would have a bit extra to spend and take a shot at another lower-priced free agent. Mango ------------------ Eat more spinach! Live long and prosper! Donate blood! Mango, That's true. If Timmy does go to Orlando, I would imagine he'd want to leave the Spurs in somewhat of a decent situation (picks or decent players). I know Cuttino is a solid player, but wouldn't it be interesting if Duncan prompted this contact? Duncan could have off-handedly complimented the Rockets' rebuilding efforts in his stay in Orlando, in particular their young guards. Unfortunately, that and a $2.5 M exception will only get you Corie Blount. ------------------ The ClutchCity 500.
Cat must be put in a soundproof isolation both with 24 hour security guards. We cannot let him leave. ------------------ please venture to atheistalliance and rocketsonline I AM SPARTACUS
Damn Bastards! Leave that guy alone! If the Rockets lose him, to ANYONE, were in some deep Ka Ka. The rebuilding operation will take a serious hit if we lose Mobley. But then again, Rudy aint THAT dumb. I hope not anyway... ------------------ Great players aren't always great, they're only great when they have to be
He could go, but I think he will stay. If Mobley leaves, does that make us a lot weaker or just a bit weaker? I wonder what his value to the club really is? I personally LOVE his attitude, but not his decision making process. If he improves and plays smarter, the sky is the limit, if he gets the big head, and thinks he is as good as Francis, then I would not mind him leaving. DaDakota ------------------
Achebe, A sign-n-trade by one of the top tier free agents would: 1. Help Orlando by enabling them to make the biggest haul possible during their moment in the sun. 2. Get a better salary plan for the player. 3. Help the team losing the top tier free agent by getting something of value in return. 4. Hurt Houston if Cat goes to Orlando as a free agent. If he goes we can replace him with Eddie Jones, in a sign and trade with the Hornets. ------------------ If your looking for something here, you won't find it.
But from what you read on BBS He would have to come off the bench, as there is no way Shandy can be displaced from the starting line-up Me thinks there is no way he would do that. ------------------ Stuff BBS, the Rockets and you guys It's all Clippers these days, come join the bandwagon and visit http://www.ClippersCity.net
Im glad im not a SA or Detroit fan. hell, im scared to lose Mobes, and look what they have to put up with. well, if Mobes leaves then the Rocks should keep Drew as a sg and there will be no debate as to who to start. someone tell Shandon he needs to start practicing his shot more. ------------------ No signature for you!
As the original Mobley Apologist, I have three options if he leaves; 1. Off to Clipper Land 2. Follow him 3. Stay here, cry and keep posting stupid and useless threads and replys ------------------ Stuff BBS, the Rockets and you guys It's all Clippers these days, come join the bandwagon and visit http://www.ClippersCity.net
I have a hunch he'll choose #3 But Smeg, try expanding your horizons into dreamcasting scenarios too. If we lose Mobley, we'll be short a lefthander. ------------------ The more lefties on your team, the better. Collier is Seven Foot and Left Handed. How can you go wrong? Trade or bench Kenny Thomas.
If I was Mobes I would be awfull tempted to leave the Rocks for Magic. Of course I hope he doesnt. But Orlando could offer him more money, starting job, and a better team. Damn it I hate John Gabriel. He's the DEBIL!!!! ------------------ In Rudy I trust.
I know one thing, if Cat did leave can somebody say bring back the draft and Courtney Alexander. Cat will be a rocket next year. No way, Orlando breaks up Francis-Shandon-Cutiono ------------------
The day I turn on the Rockets is the day hell freezes over.... ...or they trade Shandon, whichever comes first. To keep my post pertinent to the subject at hand, what a cruel blow by the hands of fate it'd be to watch Mobley waltz off to DisneyWorld after passing on Courtney Alexander in the draft. Of course, knowing that means of more of my man Shan cushions the potential blow somewhat.... Peace party peeples ------------------ "Kick to the gut....The Stunner, The Stunner!!!!....Lights out for Austin Croshere!!!"
