MJ and Kobe both had stars around them for all their titles. In fact Kobe was the 2nd banana for most of his. The guys who won titles in the 80s through today with inferior players around them do NOT include Jordan, Kobe, Shaq, Magic or Bird, they DO include Hakeem (94), Wade and perhaps Duncan's 2nd title (when DR was all but done and before Parker/Manu were special) teams.
LOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All three are still with the Cavs this year. Let's see how they do without James And FYI I don't give a **** about +/-. Most astute fans know its way too dependent on so many factors to be of real use. Just an example, your backup will affect your +/-, as well as the condition of the rest of your teammates, and your opponent as well. If you were lucky enough to play with Lebron for 30 mins and watch him dominate the game night in and night out, I'm sure you'll have a very high +/- as well even if all you do is stand there all day long. 8.6 pts, 7.6 rebs, 1.1 assists per game isn't anywhere near top 5.
Chris Paul and LBJ colluding at Lavo last night in Vegas  http://www.vegasnews.com/28277/miami-heats-lebron-james-celebrates-at-lavo.html
It looks like CP3 had something stuck up his ass and LeBrick looks like he got that shirt from Baby Gap. As long as LeBrick tells CP3 to go to Houston, I'm fine by it. DD
Pic above^^ 1. Looks like they wearing the same belt. Is that a type of belt on ballers wear? When I say ballers, I mean rich ppl. 2. Why do basketball players wear bball shoes for casual wear? From what I understand wearing bball shoes 24/7 is actually pretty uncomfortable compared to regular sneakers or tennis shoes. Is it because they're bball players so they're extra cool they don't get affected by this? lol
I think LRMR gives out those belts to all of there clients ala the Skulls with their rolexes. I'm tellin ya, its a cult! First LeBrick, then Wade, then Bosh, and now CP3. Next up Amare and Melo! DD
Hopefully the Hornets keep him for the next two years to increase the chances of the Rockets not paying the max for a distributor.
Woj is spot on. It's not "more power to him" - to make a trade demand like this, and expect it to be honored, is devaluing the entire concept of the collective bargaining agreement and makes a mockery of the term contract. If Paul wanted the flexibility to try and go somewhere else, he should have signed a one-year deal. Think about what would happen if an NBA owner tried to do what happens in the NFL - that is, reneg on a guaranteed contract. Even if it were legal (which it's not), all hell would break loose. The Hornets made a four-year commitment to Paul in July 2008, and Paul made that exact same commitment to them. Don't come back and cry about flexibility when you had the opportunity to sign a shorter-term deal. And yes, this entire about-face from Paul came after weeks of hanging with James, and after James reportedly told him - a contracted employee of a completely separate team - to seek a trade. Do some of you really not see a problem there? It's NOT HIS CHOICE. If he were a free agent, I'd agree with you completely. It was his choice to commit himself over the long-term to the New Orleans franchise. He had other options, and he chose not to take them. If reports are true, Paul is simply too selfish to deal with the consequences of his own decisions. If any of you don't see the link to James there, particularly after weeks of their hanging out, you're burying your heads in the sand.
Cat, Exactly, but the owners and league have propped up these players...emphasizing individual skill over teamwork. It is why the Rockets are so refreshing...we bench our prima donnas and ship them off to NY. DD
In general I agree with your point, but you need to take Wade off your list as Shaq almost won the MVP that year and was a force. Remember how he came into the season in better shape that year and everything to show up Kobe?
Agreed. You can't have it both ways. If you want the security of a guaranteed contract, then you also have to take the inflexibility of your choices for the duration of the contract. If the players want the freedom to jump ship any time they think the team is unworthy of their service, then they should fore go the guaranteed contract, and the management can let them go the minute the players are deemed to be unworthy of their pays.
agree 100% one thing despite all this drama caused by lebron, bosh and wade they all waited till they were free agents to do so. sure maybe lebron "tanked" the final series against boston but bosh and wade stuck it out on some terrible teams to be able to play with each other. lebron is out of order doing this and paul is ridiculous to think he has any leverage in saying where he may go when demanding a trade. if he pouts and plays poorly he will only detract teams away. If (and i doubt they will) NO trades him they'll do it for the best deal for them even if it means shipping him to toronto or minnesota.
