Isn't it ironic that Martin's first game as a Rocket was agaisnt Danny Granger?

agree 100%, since he got here.... and that's exactly what i was thinking when the caravan stopped to visit him...What better way to say "this guy is staying with us and is a part of our future"...you dont visit him like that if he's being shopped or considered bait. I also think Martin knows this himself...i'd be surprised if they havent pretty much told him he's untouchable.

Based off of what? The few minutes Taylor actually saw the court last year? Say what you want, but JT put up 26 a game in college...it's safe to say he's got the skills to be in the NBA. I'm not claiming him as a legit starting SG, but he should be in the rotation this year. Is Wafer even in the league anymore??

People on this board just don't know about Martin. I've watched and LOVED his game since He became the MAN in Sac. He's the only player on this team can can go out on any given night and score 50 points and do it super efficiently.

I guarantee that once people see the 100% K-mart in the beginning of the season and he just scores and gets to the line people will fall in love with him too.

He's young, cheap and can score and get to the line like an All-star. He's a keeper.

True, but if we can get a big star for him,we must do it. I doubt if we can get one in exchange for him,but it might be possible if we are lucky.

He can do that, but he doesn't play any defense.Having Ariza/Battier to handle defense won't be enough.

Taylor shot 22% percent from the 3 point line, and played in 31 games while averaging 9 minutes per game, while Wafer shot 39% from the three two years ago.

college is different from the nba, if you dont believe me ask mike miller, adam morrison, kwame brown. idiot. and no he wont be in the rotation. no way.

    our rotation will consist of

    brooks/lowry
    martin
    ariza/battier/budinger
    scola
    yao/miller

    and on some ocassions hill.

no way taylor is cracking that rotation.

The framing of the topic question is ridiculous, considering that keeping Martin is the biggest risk of all given his injury history. If you have to include him to get a player who's a bit better and a bit more reliable (granger), you do it. If you have to include him to get a player who is a lot better and a lot more reliable (paul), you definitely do it and worry about filling the gaps in your roster later. As said elsewhere, Paul/Brooks would make a great 1-2 combo, way better than Lowry/Brooks. Besides, if Martin was in the deal the rockets would have plenty of assets left to get some random loose cannon SG to light it up.

In the last 3 years, kevin martin has played 61, 51, and 46 games. We need to sell high on this cripple.

Give me a break,Martin's injury history is overblown, especially since all of his injuries weren't chronic.

I think Martin is untouchable in the sense that we have no back-up for him.

If you trade Martin without getting a decent SG in return, then all we have is Taylor who is not a proven or trusted starter yet.

However, we are deep in our other positions that we can sacrifice just about anyone.
    Brooks/Lowry
    Ariza/Battier/Budinger
    Scola/Hill/Patterson/Hayes

Everyone is clamoring over Chris Paul. Why? I mean, if the Rockets have to trade Kevin Martin and who else knows what, don't you think that they would be giving up alot to add to a position that is a strength and not a need. Now please let me stress that fact that Chris Paul is dynamic. But the "assets" everyone keeps referring to is the Rockets depth. That's what they would be giving away. Im all for adding a superstar to the team, put just not at the position of point guard. Aaron Brooks is great along with Kyle Lowry. It's easy to say that the grass is greener on the other side, but is it truley with a trade like this? I say no unless we get a SF like Danny Granger or all else, stick with what we got!

Im tired of this paul crap. He is good... damn good... but hes not worth giving up martin or half our team for this guy. I like our team as is... yes, we can always upgrade and Morey is all about that when the chance comes but do not ruin what you have for one player. I think alot of you dont understand how good yao and martin can be playing together! I am very excited to see how well they play together... I think Lowry, Martin, Yao can make the Rockets just as good as the Miami Heat... its all about team work and these guys understand that! I dont want all this drama being brought to the team...

    Go Rockets
