As you may know, Yao is currently in China to do some charity work.

On Saturday, he talked to Huang Jianqiang, one of the best known sports commentators in China.

It was a rather comprehensive interview. Yao seemed quite confident of the future of the Rockets. He said:

"The Houston Rockets have provided a very good environment for me. The latest resigning of Scola and Lowry and the addition of Brad Miller is helpful for the development of the team. Miller knows Adelman's system and that will save us a lot of adapting efforts... I believe, overall, in terms of talent and players' age, the team can at least achieve what they did in the season before my injury."

As you all Akon, in 08-09, the Rockets reached the second round in the playoffs and did some serious damage to the LA lakers.

Yao also said in the interview that the heat is now the favorite to win the NBA title. It's possible he and Miller could play like Twin-Towers in the next season. He also shared with his experience of being a father.

Here is the link, with a full recap in Chinese and an embedded video. Hope somehow you can have a sense of what he was talking.

I guess "at least" is a good thing. I hope we do better, and I think we have a better team than the 08-09 team. Plus, we finally we have some size and shooting in Brad Miller.

This is what i've been waiting for Yao to say. Although, i have to disagree. This team will not achieve the type of success they had in 08-09, they will do so much better. ;)

Well. tell Yao as long as he stays health, Rocket will just be fine.

However, I may not worry about his body, but being a boss, he may lost passion about basketball. Maybe I worry too much.

Add Brad Miller to the roster from last year and its already a playoff team. Now upgrade that more with lets say a 75% Yao Ming and i think they are a second round team.

Yao at 100%.... u already know...
