Yes he did. And also, it was a package of Odom and Bynum. Jefferson was just dealt for cap space, while Bynum will most certainly fetch you very good talent.
No, he didn't. Don't even get me started on the Bynum/Jefferson thing. You're just making things up now to support whatever it is your argument has turned into. Just stop.
That had more to do with what Boston was offering than KG forcing the trade. Don't forget It included guys like Green and Telfair, who were still full of potential at the time. Seems like a no brainer to me to pick that deal over bynum. I believe they also included 2 first round picks. I dont remember LA's exact deal, but i cant see them offering a better deal. Obviously, if the knicks offer one hell of a deal, then it makes perfect sense to take it and both sides will be happy, but the knicks don't have enough talent or assets to do that. If anything, this proves how a team (like houston) can convince a team to trade their franchise guy when they werent sure about it to begin with.
They've told you three times you idiot, he has two years left after this season he doesn't need to resign with the team he's traded to he's automatically there for two years. Why would him not signing an extension after two seasons be any sort of barganing stategy?
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/post/Garnett-will-not-force-trade?urn=nba-28987 http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2916217 Sources told the Times, however, that Wolves general manager Kevin McHale is not thrilled with the idea of getting Odom and Bynum, even if they come with the Lakers' 19th pick Garnett never has requested a trade publicly despite the fact that the Wolves have struggled to remain competitive in recent years. Minnesota finished with a 32-50 record last season. The Wolves haven't been to the playoffs since 2004.
Any way, If Paul wants to go to Portland. Morey can convince him to come here. It's not like they are a superior team, and they also have been ravaged by injuries.
Heart wants what it wants unless there's millions of dollars involved. Bosh would not have signed with Miami if he wouldn't be making max. Paul's not going to make max unless he plays to his potential, because he's got an injury history now. 2 years of playing in "cancer mode" because you don't like your team is idiotic and probably unprecedented.
Garnett demanded a trade to Boston? Really. Let's see what we can find on that one: The ultra-competitive Garnett refused to break ranks, despite his frustration at the mounting losses and the apparent inability of the Timberwolves’ front office to build a contender around him. He knew his window of opportunity to win a championship was growing ever smaller, but unlike many other superstars in today’s NBA, Kevin Garnett refused to bad-mouth the organization or demand a trade. He remained loyal to the franchise and publicly stated that he did not want to leave ’Sota, as he calls it. BTW that is a quote from Kevin Garnett's official website. Do you have a source better than that can show that he demanded a trade to Boston? How about a trade anywhere? http://www.kevingarnett.com/newsfulltext.aspx?aid=2844 You are correct that Jefferson got dealt for cap space. Do you think that the fact that he blew out his knee two seasons ago could have had any bearing on that? You still haven't commented on why Paul's situation is that different from Chris Webbers. This is the third time I've asked for a response, do you have one?
Exactly some truth in this and alot of lieing. Paul can go wherever he wants but the team can accept to send him wherever they can get the most. They can convinve him this is the place in theirs and his best interest and he could accept it if they wont take anywhere else. He can be convinced then if he sees we obviously are better than Portland and the Knicks since he is starting out on such low end places that are obviously below us already in the playoff stands to come here to win. Its not said that he is opposed to coming here. We just arent his favorites.
You think Yao is gonna last much more than 2 yearsanyway. The hell with what Paul wants. It's a 2 year run. jesus H. christ you freakin' creep.
Cap space isn't meaningless, especially for a team like NO who is on the move. This team is looking to get sold. Do you want to buy a team with a bunch of junk that you got for Chris Paul or a team with lots of cap room?
He goes where he is traded. Sure, if he gets traded to a sucky franchise, like Memphis, Toronto, etc., he will probably bolt after two years. BUT, Houston isn't a sucky franchise. He's going to see what a swell team we'll have over that time. Also, he'll have to re-sign with us, or at least be in a S&T, else he'll be walking away from real $. So, the downside isn't so limited. He has no say now, though he will have some say in two years.
It is hard enough for them to sell tickets with Chris Paul on the team, much less without him. With other "junk players" that may have some name recognition with NBA fans you would sell more tickets than with cap room. It is not like there be huge prizes available during an upcoming off season any time soon. Plus, how exactly are the Hornets going to convince a player to come live in New Orleans vs many of the other hot spots?
