I just listened to The Suburbs straight through and its fantastic. 5/5 Has anyone here listened to it yet? I think it might be their best album so far.
have it sitting on my home PC. have not listened to it yet, but am excited. Funeral was a 10/10 and Neon Bible was an 8/10 rating IMO. Neon Bible grew on me
It has its ups and downs, but way more ups than downs. First listen I was thinking 8.5/10, now listening some more im calling 9/10. Great album. But not one of the best ever or anything like I was hoping.
Maybe I just completely missed something, but I thought it didnt come out until August 2nd? I have listened to the 4 singles that have been released and the live new songs...? I have tickets to see them Aug 11 in Alpharetta, GA. Its gonna be a great show.
I've had the album for a few hours. On first listen. Wow! Amazing stuff. I liked the Houston shout out on one of the tracks. Win Butler is from the Woodlands actually.
Yeah, Win and his brother (also in the band) are both from the Woodlands. the band was formed in Canada though. But the album from what I read is about growing up in the suburbs of Houston
I didn't know a few of them were from the woodlands (I guess i should since that's where I grew up too), but I got to meet the band and Spike Jonez when they were in Austin shooting a video for the new album a few months ago I was definitely planning on getting the album, but didn't expect it out so soon.
Arcade Fire is one of my favorites. I've listened to The Suburbs 3 times through so far. I'm not ready to call it better than Funeral yet, but it would take something epic to top that album for me. I'm loving it so far and looking forward to getting more acquainted with this album over the next few weeks.
Now downloading due to Mr. Brightside approval. But really, The Arcade Fire is pretty amazing, even though Neon Bible was kind of a letdown after Funeral. It was still better than 90% of the crap out there, anyway.
