DISH network. I've used both DISH and DIRECTV and can honestly say DirecTVs channel guide and DVR setup is head-underwater compared to DISH.

I had much better Signal with Dish too. Only during a hurricane is when the signal faded, with Direct is was every time the wind blew.

I have Comcast + HD + HBO + High Speed Internet right now at about $86/month, in a deal a negotiated a while back....but after taxes its coming out to 100 and change....would switching to DirectTV or Dish be worth it? I don't want to have to play the channel game and realize I'm missing channels, but then again I primarily watch the main ones (Locals, CNN, MSNBC, FoxBN, Spike, FX, Comedy Central, ESPN1,2,3,U).....I like the OnDemand feature on Comcast right now, that's whats keepin me there but if I can pull off all the channels, plus HBO and HD for cheaper, I can re adjust to DVR.

Please advise, and maybe you get yourself a ref feral in the process!

Also lookin to make the switch before NFL season to climb onto any RedZone or SundayTicket deals as well....also how are the NBA League Pass deals?

    That's a nice deal. I have HD + DVR+Starz+HBO+internet (10mbps) and our bill is $158.

It's rediculous, which is why we dropped the cable tv portion and kept the internet, and added Direct TV. Now it's going to be around $90.

The DirecTV special is the one they have every year with the NFL package. Except its even better than before with extra goodies thrown in like free HD for life, no installation charge and such.

I'm mostly looking for the added referral discount

By the way- Can you use ANY DIRECTV subscriber's referral? Is it a standard referral plan they have? Or are some referrals better than others? I want to use a neighbor's referral but wondering if I should shop around for better ones if its like that?

Does anyone know if the there is signal degradation with long wires? They had to get special permission from a supervisor because logistically they couldn't setup satellite within the usual guidelines and had to use more wiring then they usually would. Everything looks fine except on the main tv which i believe is the longest distance from the satellite.

My mancave is a good 150 feet from the dish. No issues.
