What are the probabilites of the Heat playing Cleveland in the first round of the playoffs next year?

Even thoug it would be lob sided I think the Cavaliers woul put inhuman effort in the series to put a scare on the Heat.

Cleveland beating Miami would be one of the greatest karmic retribution games in the history of the NBA. I'm happy just thinking about it!

I highly doubt Cleveland will sniff the playoffs, but seeing how they're in the Eastern Conference it might be possible....they have 3, maybe 4 good teams, the rest are lousy.

In no particular order....outisde of orlando, boston, miami, chicago and more than likely atlanta....that leaves three spots open between the nets (who have improved), the knicks, the bucks and the cavs....IMO, I don't think the bobcats will be that good this season, but they may make it...so that leaves five teams to battle it out for the last three playoff spots...cavs are a long shot, but they could make it...

In the history of sport, perhaps. It would be so astronomically unlikely and so unbelievably fulfilling to Cleveland fans... chills thinking about it and I'm not even a Cavs fan.

    But it'll never happen.

it'd make for great tv, but with cleveland's current team the chances of it are slim at best.

I just want to see Cle win the season series.

I expect the Wiz to make a run at the playoffs too.

i would bet my everything i have, literally go all in that cleaveland will not make the playoffs and if they did, would not beat the heat in the playoffs, should by some miracle they make the playoffs.

That 1 vs. 8 matchup is certainly within the realm of possibilities. In the east there are basically 6 teams that are either contenders or decent teams : Mia, Orl, Bos, Chi, Atl, Mil. After that the other three spots are up for grabs. The Cavs have a really solid coach and good scrappy role players who have a shot to get in.

    Orlando
    Miami
    Boston
    Atlanta
    Milwaukee
    Charlotte
    Chicago

These seven will make it in the playoffs barring injury.
That leaves one spot for the:
    Cavs
    Knicks
    Nets
    Raptors
    Pacers
    Pistons
    76ers
    Wizards

Cavs are probably 2nd worst here, only ahead of the Pistons.
They will not make the playoffs and if they do they will be trampled on by Lebron and the Heat.

If they make the playoffs it would be as the 8th seed and Miami is more or less gauranteed a #1 seed so I dont see it as very unlikely. If it happens I will be happy no matter who wins as:

    1) the cavs owner deserves to get his ass whooped by LJ

    2) It would be fun to see James ranted on by the cavs fan

It would be the funniest thing ever if 1) Miami played 8) Cleveland, and Cleveland upset them.

Ya think Bron will still do the chalk toss when they go to Cleveland? I would guess that numerous projectiles would be hurled at him if he does...

He should give up ALL the pregame antics and just play the damn game.

In other words, ditch the self gloss and play ball.

Lebron will need a diaper every time they go to Cleveland, I just wouldn't want to imagine what people in Cleveland would do to him.

The only games cleveland will sell ot are the Heat at cleveland...it will be intense to say the least!
I think this might create a rivalry in the long run.
