Well Red Auerbach must be one fluky SOB because he built and rebuilt the Celtics into 3 different dynasties.

And so the Celtics getting Garnett and Ray Allen to join Pierce, a fluke too huh? (I call the Garnett trade 2 former Celtics conspiring with each other for years, and the Ray Allen trade both teams got what they wanted out of the deal)

By your loose definition of fluke, every trade, signing, drafting, and personnel moves from each team that results into many years of success are "flukes".

There's a fine line between "flukes" and being a little lucky that your calculated moves work out in the end. A fluke in pro sports to me is falling backasswards into success that you didn't envision or plan. Red Auerbach's personnel decisions are not ones I would describe as "flukes".

It's cool, man. Red Auerbach is awesome. He's my dad's favorite coach. You don't have to convince me.

Not sure if it was Red, the Boston Owner or GM at the time, but the outright bride that lead to Bill Russell was genius. Unethical, evil, genius, but genius if you bottom line was cementing rings in Boston.

Couple other points. NHL have I believe about the hardest salary cap in sports, it isn't mega worldwide or even in the US (distant 4th). European soccer has the biggest money inequities in the world, and only gets bigger and bigger, and the two most culprit leagues get bigger and bigger.

There is a lot more to sports and leagues popularity and profitability than fairness and financial/talent equity within leagues.

I'm asking your personal opinion, do you think players should have free agency rights, even if its bad for the league.

just a personal opinion based on your values? a simple question

Memphis X, you're gonna catch heat on the Wade question but its definitely legit.

Lebron has been carrying a team with not one other all-star for 4 seasons to over 50 wins and he's running to Wade.

Wade got to that championship with the help of a healthy, but more important, motivated shaq.

Yeah, but the league didn't have as many teams back then. The league should really downsize though.

Shaq sucked in the Finals. It was Wade that willed his team to that victory over the choking Mavs.

when lebron averaged 35 9 7 in 09, what do you think the Cavs would have done if they had a shaq averaging 18 and 9
