That sounds more like Berkman(His comments seemed to be more about helping the Astros, while Oswalt seemed more about winning). I think the Cardinals or Braves are by far his preference. Between their winning cultures, being the closest to home, and being mid markets in the NL, they fit his wants beautifully. Sure wouldn't make me happy though wearing either of those uniforms.

Seems to rich for the Cardinals blood for me. Seems like the Astros would have to pay a large portion of Oswalt's remaining salary.

Could be a ploy by Wade to force the Phillies into picking up Oz's option. If so, a tip of the hat to Wade for making a Morey like move.

Or it could be Roy's ploy to "encourage" the Astros to trade him to St Louis if he says something along the lines of "I'll go to Philly, but only with the option pickup. Or I'll go to St Louis without the option".

I'd love that deal, but I agree it seems quite unlikely.

    That deal would be sick.

Jayson Stark recently said Singleton was the best 18 year old prospect he's seen since Manny Ramirez

i heard that same deal, but the phillies were also throwing in halladay and ryan howard and paying 75% of their salaries.

I don't care how many prospects the cardinals would give up, for me, Oswalt in a Cardinals uniform would be like Jeter in a Red Sox uniform.....anybody but the Cards, Cubs, or Reds :(, McLane would lose all my respect if he trades him to the cards and I hope he doesn't

I love that 3 way deal with the 'stros-phils-rays, but someone said cosart had an elbow injury and that singleton was off limits

There is zero chance of that 3-way trade as proposed happening.

Not sure how I'd feel about Roy in a Cardinals uniform, but talent-wise, i'd be happy with a Oswalt for Shebly Miller trade straight up.

Absolutely not. The Yankees-Red Sox rivalry and Astros-Cards shouldn't even be compared. It's not even close. The Astros wish they had a rivalry like that.

I actually think this trade is possible the more I think about it, since the 'stros are paying the rest of Oswalt's salary this year and if the astros send berkman to the rays + $$$, astros should get all those players since they basically paid for them

And to ryan17wagner: I said to me, I never compared the rivalries, its just that the Cardinals are the Astros biggest rivals and I can't even imagine Oswalt in a Cards uniform
