Christina Hendricks would cause some nosebleeds in the Poison Ivy costume from Arkham Asylum. And so what if Riddler isn't as maniacal a villain as Joker? He would have a different goal compared to Joker, who basically wanted to prove something to Batman. Here, Riddler (ideal suggestion was Robin Williams) would have the intent of making Batman suffer, not the city of Gotham. Hell, they could even have Riddler know who Batman really is, and it would not be a stretch of the imagination to think Riddler would rather have fun with that instead of letting the public know.
I could be wrong, but wasn't there a reporter in the Dark Knight who accused Bruce Wayne of being Batman?
Sorry if this has already been posted. I thought I was the only one insanely annoyed by 3-D http://gizmodo.com/5592600/christopher-nolan-may-shoot-all-of-batman-3-in-non+3d-imax Here's a rumor that gets me excited: according to Christopher Nolan's long-time cinematographer Wally Pfister, he really wants to shoot the entirety of the next Batman movie in IMAX. And he hates 3D. Really, this is great news. 3D, in my opinion, is an annoying fad. But those scenes in The Dark Knight that were shot in IMAX, when seen on a real-deal IMAX screen, were absolutely stunning. An entire film shot that way, by Christopher Nolan? Yes please. Here's the entire quote by Pfister: "I can't say until I read the script, but it would certainly be my preferred, amazing goal to shoot the whole movie in IMAX. I must say I'm a huge IMAX fan. I like IMAX more than I like 3-D. Chris' films are so densely layered and have so much going on visually in every way that IMAX helps enhance that because of the scope and the scale of it - it becomes a much larger canvas to paint on. That's what we found on 'Dark Knight.' I'm not a big fan of 3-D. I liken it to my View-Master I had 40 years ago. Are you really getting more out of the story with 3-D? When you separate those different planes and you're creating artificial depth, it looks phony to me." Add to that the fact that Nolan himself has gone on record about his distaste for what 3D does to movies, and it's looking pretty clear that the next Batman won't be 3D: "On a technical level, it's fascinating. But on an experiential level, I find the dimness of the image extremely alienating." Thank goodness at least one Hollywood hitmaker isn't succumbing to the studio's love of $20 movie tickets
Who's holding him prisoner if he's in a coma? But I see your point. It was just a suggestion, I'm not endorsing it or anything. And I think in Nolan's world, it probably wouldn't feel too realistic anyways. In any case, I think Batman's redemption is gonna have to be a huge point of emphasis in the film...and I think, considering the events that transpired in the second movie, he should travel down a path where his morals clearly come into question. He also needs a new love interest....Catwoman fills both parts perfectly. I still got a bad taste in my mouth from Uma Thurman's version of Poison Ivy, but if he went that way, she could be some kind of eco-terrorist possibly. But I can't see either female character having a lead villain role in the film.
the magic of this is that batman takes the blame....but isn't to blame....but he's willing to bear it, anyway, for the sake of something bigger. that's where we left off. that's where this should be headed. the "redemption" isn't necessary, for real...his "redemption" would be nothing more than people waking up to the fact that he was never the villain they thought he was after the events of The Dark Knight. i think a love interest is a huge distraction in telling that story.
the WHOLE film in IMAX would be surreal. I think it's going to happen Batman is capping the trilogy with a BANG!
I get that, but then how much burden can Batman/Bruce Wayne take. Didn't they just give false hope to the citizens of Gotham by keeping Dent's reputation intact? To me I see a film where where lies are exposed (Gordon/Batman about Dent, Aflred about Rachael) and the main characters and Gotham itself falls further into moral decay before finding that redemption. Like Gordon said,"Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. " He can shoulder that burden forever. And I don't think he needs a love interest in the traditional sense...like a Bond movie needs someone new for him to sleep with...just someone to tempt him. Someone to distract him, to conflict him, to bring up the pain of losing Rachael.
i thought the last one was shot in IMAX? only certain scenes were? how would that affect the rest of the movie? just stretching the image to fit the larger screen?
the lies were only to cover for Dent....Dent is going to come out the bad guy. somehow Batman is redeemed in that. i think they should show him as lonely...the events are too soon after rachel's death. his character and hers were too deeply tangled (growing up together) to have him so soon tempted by a new love interest....that's too shallow, i think. this character is deeper than that.
I don't know if its been stated in here, but Rachel McAdams was the missing piece to a could-of-been-perfect-movie-if-it-weren't-for-that-one-ugly-girl-wtf. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1046097/bio
Am I the only one that DOESN'T find Maggie Gyllenhal attractive??? I think she's hideous! Her face looks weird. disgusting.
No, you're pretty much just like everyone. I think she's actually kinda pretty, or at least way better than what everyone says. I would certainly do her.
Yeah TDK had some scenes where it was "shot" in IMAX, which means it takes up the whole screen. With Batman 3, they are looking to shoot the WHOLE film in IMAX. The picture would be HD and take up the screen through the end.
Well we don't know how long after DK the next one will take place... and what if he discovers the content of the letter Alfred hid from him...that could cause him to not only push Alfred away, but to find comfort in dangerous places...places that will lead him to only push the ones who truly care about him further away. If there is a love interest, I really don't envision it as a matter of, "well all the sudden he's over Rachael and is in love with someone else," but rather a slow, calculated preying on Bruce's emotional weaknesses...build him up to tear him down. Maybe it could work or maybe it won't. And given Nolan...he's gotten something entirely different up his sleeve.
Been hearing lots of rumors about this, and it would be a perfect choice IMO. Great fit for the Riddler!
