Sounds good to me. He wants to be on a winning team, and the coach has stood by him even when he was having a lousy season...

Wow that's still quite a bit more money than he deserves.

Hard to believe that this move last year had everyone thinking contender.

Can players have it written into their contract to be paid during a lockout?

I don't think this has anything to do about Jefferson making a sacrifice to help the Spurs. This is about Jefferson doing what is best for Jefferson. However, it does appear to help the Spurs in the short term.

The question for me is why did the Spurs re-sign him? I don't think any other team was tearing up RJ's phone into signing with them.

    The Spurs? *snicker*

When you think about it, the Spurs NEEDED him.

They have zero proven commodities at the 3 position right now. So it's not as bad as it looks.

So they re-signed him because he was the best option of a bad lot. Yeah I get that. The 3 position was slim pickings after LBJ and Pierce made their decisions early on.

It's just that I've grown accustomed to the Spurs pulling rabbits out of their hats and finding a hidden gem, now they have to settle for a player that clearly struggled playing for them.

Hopefully this is bad years coming to the Spurs.

You must have a different definition of "karma" than I do.

Yeah I'm not using it in the strict old school religion term. Just in the casual loose way that non anal-retentive people would use it.

So in order to appease the old school people who want words used correctly, I'll change my sentence.

I agree with you. This is a desperation move by the Spurs because they have no alternative to RJ.

Wait, RJ doesn't want to play for the Heat?

Doubt it. There'll always be people who overpay for the slightest shred of stardom.

So when do you think the Spurs will be contenders again?
