Nice choice, no doubt about it the Evo dominates them all. I really thought the iPhone 4 or the Droid x would present close challenges but they both come up short. Rest aired you have the best out there for at least the next several months. At least until T Mobile releases project emerald in November.
Hey guys, I have had the Droid X for two days now and man this is the best phone I have ever had. Beats all my BB and smartphones I have had. The phone is a bit big but I love the big screen. No issues at all, just blazing fast apps. The swype keyboard is the real deal. I can't stop messing with it. The battery is way better then the Inc. My wife has the Incredible and she wants to switch to the X now. She likes how you can change the size of the widgets and better shortcuts.
You must be referring to the "is it a Nova or Epson screen". If that's the worst thing about the Evo, then all the fans of other devices are grasping at straws. I actually have the Nova screen while two of my friends have Epson screens. I truly prefer the Nova screen even though its supposedly the lesser of the two screens. But really its not that big a deal. It's only a big deal to those who bought lesser phones or the chronic complaint whores.
Any word if they'll have an app soon that'll let you video chat with someone on a computer? Probably picking up a couple of Evo's later in the year. waiting on the blackberry contracts to end.
Just got this phone and the EVO is NOT better. Some people on here are delusional. Just because they both have a big screen does not make the similar.
So many confusing parts to this post. It's not better than the Droid x? So you own both to compare? If not then what are you basing your "its not better" comment on? And you seem perturbed about the Evos large screen, but the Droid x has a slightly larger screen. Very confusing.
What are the screen issues you mentioned DoD? And how can I tell which of the two that I have Hak? Beaner, can you let us know what you like more about the Droid X?
I was reading reviews about it and seeing quite a few people have screens that have lag or have screens that separate causing a rainbow effect, apparently. I'm not sure how frequently this happens, but there are YouTube videos of it happening. My main reason for not getting the Evo is the network is iffy in terms of coverage in several areas from looking at their coverage map. But it's always been an option in case I couldn't find another phone.
I thought you were talking about the light leakage issue. Known defect and something they will replace. The 30fps cap is another negative for the EVO and can only be corrected by rooting, IIRC. Other than that though, I still think it's the best Android phone out there.
