I know we have alot of boxing fans on here, but only the BIG NAME fights get the dedicated threads. So I figured I'd make a thread for the not so big names/up and comers that we can talk about here. Here's who's on tap for tonight: Saturday 17th July @ 21.45 EST / 02.45 GMT+1 / 03.45 CET HBO Boxing Timothy Bradley vs Luis Carlos Abregu Joachim Alcine vs Alfredo Angulo Saturday 17th July @ 20.00 EST / 01.00 GMT+1 / 02.00 CET Integrated Sports PPV Boxing David Tua vs. Monte Barrett Raymond Serrano vs. Ayi Bruce Saturday 17th July @ 10.30 EST / 03.30 GMT+1 / 04.30 CET Fox Sports Net Fight Fernando Montiel vs. Eric Morel Roberto Marroquin vs. TBA I'm interested in seeing Tua fight, as well as Bradley. Bradley's moving up to Welterweight for this fight, and he's in talks for fightin Pacquaio or Mayweather and the likes. ---------------------- The WBO 140-pound champion (25-0, 11 KOs) will temporarily move up to welterweight on Saturday night to meet fellow unbeaten Luis Carlos Abregu, but this meeting is likely just a prelude to bigger bouts and burgeoning fame for the Desert Storm. ----------------------- Tua supposedly is makin a 'comeback' at 37 but yeah....you know how that always goes. And in other news, Zab Judah with the impressive victory over Jose Armando Santa Cruz last night. I'm interested in seeing if Judah's resurrection continues. http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/news/story?id=5387801
For those who saw the Bradley fight last night, thoughts? I found it funny that he challenged Pacquaio post fight and Kellerman sorta just ignored it, and asked him if that doesn't happen, who's next.....overall unimpressive fight from Bradley for me, I expected him to dominate. Not that bad of a performance from Abrigu though.
I just watched the Bradley fight. He's a skilled guy, but I think against a better opponent he just wouldn't have enough to get it done. I think both Manny and Floyd would make quick work of him.
