reptilexcq, Your post was a welcome analysis of Ming's game (even if not everyone agrees with your conclusions). But, the suggestions about post formating is a good one to follow. Learn to bend a little. We get a lot of trolls that come in and say things like "The Rockets Suck," or "The Lakers Rule," or "Shaq will woop-up on Yao!" So, when people see a post that is formated like a brick, it reeks of a "troll" rant. I'm not saying you are a troll. I'm just saying that most kid-trolls rant and rave with that type of formating. Oh, and they also use ALL CAPS IN THEIR POST...LIKE THIS...DavidS, PLEASE STOP YELLING!... ...ok...that's better. Regarding comments about Ming...Yes, he needs to work on his strength.
OK, I'll add my two cents: It's pretty obvious that Ottomaton was trying to be helpful to a new poster. I myself struggled through reptilexcq's original post, found it to have some useful insights, and was surprised at his reaction to Ottomaton's advice.
I agree with Ottomaton's post too but I can understand that it would be a little annoying if I put together a pretty good post but everyone responds to the style of the post rather than the content. Back to the topic. I was also somewhat impressed with Ming. However, I'm afraid that his shooting touch may be too good. I would hate to see him turn into an Antoine Walker type that settles for long outside jumpers. He has a big learning curve and I don't think that having Ming will translate to many more wins in his first year.
Good. Glad to see you won't be offended when I overlook whatever it was you were trying to communicate.
Come on guy's this is a blue collar working man's forum. We are not submitting resume's or essay's here.
Comparing Ming to Wang Zhi ZHi??? I don't think so! Ming has his own style and is already a heck of a lot better!
Actually, that's the thing...it's not exactly a blue collar working man's forum. I'd say it's at least 50% white collar...which is why people pay attention to grammar, spelling, and format. Personally, I come here to relax and read the posts. When users post in a manner that is easy to read, then that enhances my enjoyment of the site. The content and presentation of posts here is some of the best on the web - I think most members would like to see it stay that way. With the huge influx of new members that we have seen lately, it is almost necessary for regulars to encourage all posters to post coherently. Failing that, we might as well change the name of the site to espn.clutchcity.net.
I guess we all understand that this board is for all walks of people. And this is not an English classroom. So we are not trying to be nitty-gritty about a misspelling here, a grammar mistake there. But we want this to be a high quality board. (See this thread if you haven't: http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=40601) I would appreciate if someone points out something to me to improve my communication skill. It really doesn't matter whether you are blue collar or white collar (or whatever color is your collar ), communicating nicely and clearly is a must if you want people to listen to you. Just my two cents.
