I'm unimpressed. The double down removed the bread in favor of meat...this is just extra bread with some cheese.
If you deep fried the whole sandwich. Then it'll be deadlier than the double-down... but... not at the moment.
But what if the bread of the grilled cheese sandwiches were grilled cheese sandwiches? And the bread of those sandwiches were too? To infinity?! <table style='font:11px arial; color:#333; background-color:#f5f5f5' cellpadding='0' cellspacing='0' width='360' height='353'><tbody><tr style='background-color:#e5e5e5' valign='middle'><td style='padding:2px 1px 0px 5px;'><a target='_blank' style='color:#333; text-decoration:none; font-weight:bold;' href='http://www.colbertnation.com'>The Colbert Report</a></td><td style='padding:2px 5px 0px 5px; text-align:right; font-weight:bold;'>Mon - Thurs 11:30pm / 10:30c</td></tr><tr style='height:14px;' valign='middle'><td style='padding:2px 1px 0px 5px;' colspan='2'<a target='_blank' style='color:#333; text-decoration:none; font-weight:bold;' href='http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/340908/july-07-2010/thought-for-food---kentucky-tuna---grilled-cheese-burger-melt'>Thought for Food - Kentucky Tuna & Grilled Cheese Burger Melt<a></td></tr><tr style='height:14px; background-color:#353535' valign='middle'><td colspan='2' style='padding:2px 5px 0px 5px; width:360px; overflow:hidden; text-align:right'><a target='_blank' style='color:#96deff; text-decoration:none; font-weight:bold;' href='http://www.colbertnation.com/'>www.colbertnation.com</a></td></tr><tr valign='middle'><td style='padding:0px;' colspan='2'><embed style='display:block' src='http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:cms:item:comedycentral.com:340908' width='360' height='301' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' wmode='window' allowFullscreen='true' flashvars='autoPlay=false' allowscriptaccess='always' allownetworking='all' bgcolor='#000000'></embed></td></tr><tr style='height:18px;' valign='middle'><td style='padding:0px;' colspan='2'><table style='margin:0px; text-align:center' cellpadding='0' cellspacing='0' width='100%' height='100%'><tr valign='middle'><td style='padding:3px; width:33%;'><a target='_blank' style='font:10px arial; color:#333; text-decoration:none;' href='http://www.colbertnation.com/full-episodes/'>Colbert Report Full Episodes</a></td><td style='padding:3px; width:33%;'><a target='_blank' style='font:10px arial; color:#333; text-decoration:none;' href='http://www.indecisionforever.com/'>2010 Election</a></td><td style='padding:3px; width:33%;'><a target='_blank' style='font:10px arial; color:#333; text-decoration:none;' href='http://www.colbertnation.com/video/tag/Fox+News'>Fox News</a></td></tr></table></td></tr></tbody></table>
This is stupid, basically they are adding two more slice of bread? WHY would I want more bread?? Bread isn't fatty or greasy. Basically if you take away the two added slices of bread you have a regular toaster oven burger with double cheese instead of the single cheese.
I'll stick with my foot long cheeseburger. http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/food/2010-07-16-footlong16_ST_N.htm
A friend of mine in Memphis just attempted this: http://www.kookycanuck.com/kookamonga-challenge/ [rquoter]Our Kookamonga Burger is 4lbs of fresh ground-chuck, two pounds of our custom made hamburger bun, and one and a half pounds of lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, and cheese...SEVEN AND A HALF POUNDS TOTAL...but the fries are optional. Ground Chuck-8,960 calories/176g fat Bread-2,464 calories/35.6g fat American Cheese-848 calories/55.2g fat Tomato, onion, pickles, lettuce-85 calories/0g fat TOTAL CALORIES: 12,387 TOTAL FAT: 266.8g[/rquoter] Apparently, that also have a "king" version that is 6 pounds of meat and 12 pounds total.
