The word "rock" is part of the Rocket's name, so it made me think of "solid." Also, I try to make comments that are realistic instead of "fan babble." I really like basketball....on the court. All the contract talk on the board absolutely bores me to tears. I could care less about MLE, MRE, cap space, parking space, or any of the details of player contracts. The business side of the game, in my opinion, detracts from the game. For example, the recent "LeBron Decision Show." Sickening. Incidently, no, I didn't watch it. Lace them up, roll the ball out, and let's see what you got. In sum, I am an "old school" Rockets fan from when Rudy played. I am a purist; I like the game. Players like Scola really catch my attention. He may not be flashy, but he is SOLID.
I've always liked your moniker. In fact, I have no doubt that I've replied to you at least once with: "A solid post, solid!" Some monikers cry out for replies in the same vein, don't they?
Thanks, Deckard, you are one my favorite posters. What I really want to know, has "Tiny Wang" replied to this thread. Why would anyone pick such a name for himself, OR maybe he is unfamiliar with Texas colloquialisms. Maybe he is just a small Chinese person named Wang. I don't know, but that has to be one of the most interesting monikers on the board.
Well thanks back at you! Yeah, I've been attempting to control myself with that dude, because he's had some posts that were screaming for a joke using his moniker.
  I remember a poster responding to one of his comments about player contracts or something by saying, "based on your name, you may have more problems than the player in question." Or something like that; I couldn't stop laughing.
DLRoxFan92 DL : Damion Laverne. Rox: Rockets, of course. Fan: I AM a fan of the Rockets, or else I wouldn't post on this site. 92: 1992, the year of my birth.
I named myself after Yaos inability to grow full facial hair especially under his nose. I mean have you seen that thing?
first and middle name, followed by my two fav numbers, also my jersey numbers when I played soccer in middle and high school. I actually wanted to use NaturesFury1014 (which I use on all other forums), but I couldn't cause supposedly it was already in use. I've never seen it on here.
I just registered, and dedicated my username to my fellow countryman, the Croatian Sensation - Toni Kukoč. Ofcourse, what I didn't know is that the username can be up to only 14 characters long. Ah, damn.
A systems administrator gave it to me in my youth -- back in the beginnings of something they were starting to call "the world wide web." My last name is Ruscelli, with first initial V. A., but people started thinking my last name was Varuscelli. Future administrators thought they had to add my initials again, forming Vavaruscelli, Vavavaruscelli, etc. I sometimes think I should have gone with Vavoom, in honor of the cartoon character. Most of the above is true.
i didnt give mine any thought since i doubted that i would spend anytime posting. i was drinking a smoothie at the time and typed that in just to get through the sign up process quickly. if i knew i would be here for 9 years and 14k posts, i might have given it a bit more thought.
Just amazing how many members are now on this site and how many years in operation!!!! Major props to Clutch! Back in '99 it was just a few of us. I remember in the old day when we used to communicate with cups and a string..........lol! Proud member #255
