    Yep.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rashad_McCants

McCants then signed with the Houston Rockets in September 2009,[7] but had his contract retracted on the second day of the training camp. The Rockets General Manager said McCants presented with an abdomen problem and would not be able to participate in the camp, though he also said he would still consider McCants down the track once healthy.

what??! they had a meeting with him, and he doesn't show up. I was feeling sorry for him, but not so much anymore. A perfect situation in Cleveland (like a rebound after a break-up), but he effs it up.

Teams will put up with almost anything for talent. If he's not in the NBA, it's because he doesn't really want to be there.

I agree that was the first conclusion I came away with but found it unrealistic...

I wonder how he got by in college where I think relationships between teammates are much stronger than in the NBA. Nothing from his former college teammates?

Thanks for posting the article. Really great read. Like McCants, I too am shy and quiet, but I don't let it affect my personal or business relationships. I hope everything works out for him.

Chicago are well under the cap with 2 people sure to get massive raises too, if Miami is dynasty material, they would have been mega dynasty if they had grabbed someone like Wade.

"We might make a lot of money but, we also spend a lot of money." - Patrick Ewing. Words of a true NBA player.

As for McCants, he obviously doesn't care enough. There's no place more forgiving than professional sports if you have the talent. So the guy's mental issues has to be ridiculously large for him not to get any contract at the age of 25.

I was thinking this too. IIRC one of the coach told him flat out what's up. Dood was either straight up stupid and blind to realize he's in the wrong, or he just simply refused to change.

Something is obviously wrong with him if he's had trouble with different coaches and couldn't find a job despite the fact that "no SG could guard him". He needs to open his eyes, that is all. If not, then oh well... he deserves no pity.

Back to watching the Rockets and following the LerBon soap opera for the rest of us.

I know it sounds dumb but he is probably ED (emotionally disturbed). Really it's a failure on his parents and early childhood that no one ever bothered to seek help for him, because as you can tell, he is genuinely convinced that there is nothing wrong with his behavior. It got him this far, so it is everyone else who has the problem.

When you are young and receive help, it helps plant the seed of knowing you always have things to work on. Not that you have something wrong with you necessarily, but that the way you naturally react isn't what's considered appropriate by others. And you learn to adjust accordingly.

Just sad really. Complete failure on those around him during his youth.
