Seriously people, how can you not be for a:

    Brooks/Lowry
    Martin/Budinger/Taylor
    Iguodala/Battier
    Scola/Patterson/Smith
    Yao/(Miller?)/Hayes

That's a pretty damn good lineup. Only downside in this trade is losing Hill, because we really don't know how high his potential really is. Maybe Philadelphia can send us a future first? If not, we still have the Knicks swap. A lateral trade would be getting Thaddeus Young instead of Iguodala. This trade would not be a lateral trade for the Rockets and instead, benefit us.

That's not going to happen. The Rockets are probably the ones that will need to give up a 1st round pick.

Yep, most likely our 2012 1st rounder.

I would be ecstatic about this deal!!

When we were in desperate need of a shooting guard and were shopping McGrady's contract, Iggy and Martin were the two guys I wanted that were obtainable (Granger was the unobtainable guy I wanted). If everyone remembers, it was a three-way race between Martin, Iggy, and Butler (who I wanted no part of). If we get both Martin and Iggy on this squad?! Sign Miller to the minimum and that's a team I'd go to war with thinking we have as a good a shot as ANYONE (Lakers included) to come out the Wast.

... too bad there's no way in hell it's happening.

I didn't see the actual post where he claims that the Rockets made this offer. Most of this is about prospect trades featuring Iggy on one side and Ariza with various fillers on the other. Could you provide the link or the page number for the actual post? Thanks.

they could try to work it out with Anderson, seriously
    agreed with all
That would mean the org has given up on Hill. I am not sold on it.

Not bad if you substitute Battier instead of Ariza. remember we are not just trying to win now we are also building a team to play together for several years. 3 at least. :p
We need Ariza for the run & gun kids!

Except 3pt shooting which will be very important with a healthy Yao

Ariza isn't exactly lights out at .334... His performance at the playoff is a disparity.

I agree but he became much more efficient after the Martin deal. The Rockets asked to much of Ariza early on. I believe he'd be even better with Yao. I'm not opposed to this potential trade, I like Iggy's game but am not to keen on the contract.

Huge contract and everything. But with the resigning of Lowry and Scola at those money, AB will be looking for some huge increase as well next season. Couple with the new lock coming season. We be looking at MLE and LLE for the next 5 years at least. So why not just take Iggy on board?

Losing Hill will be a pain, but does he actually shows anything else other than having potential? He can't even dominate Summer Leagues, and when you think of the likes of Mike Harris have done in the SL of past, he just do not look that good.

Agree. Hill hasn't proven anything more than flashes and potential. He's good trade bait right now.

I wouldn't do this deal as is. I'd require Spencer Hawes over Jason Smith. Both their deals expire at the end of the year, but if we are giving up our back-up center and power forward in Hill, I think we should get a legit back-up in return...Jason Smith is crap.

Iggy is very overpaid, yeah puts up stats, but he doesn't shoot at a high percentage from the perimeter and doesn't shoot that great at FT. Heck, at half the price, Ariza's stats, especially at the end of the year is a bargain; he was putting up triple-doubles or close to them. I know Ariza isn't a great ballhandler, but in this offense, I don't think we need him to be.

If Philly wants to get out of salary cap hell, they're gonna have to come stronger than Iggy and Jason Smith. Heck, I'd even have them throw in Kapono in the Iggy and Hawes scenario. Kapono's deal ends this year as well and is a nice large contract that can be used in a trade to net us a superstar.

An excellent post. If Philly really wants to move Iggy, it's as a salary dump. It should cost them dearly, because it would certainly cost Les a hell of a lot to do it.

He doesn't play for Philadelphia, but I'd love to get him. :)
