Also, apparently another high-end Android phone is coming to ATT on Monday. Although I doubt it because I have never even heard of it til now. http://www.intomobile.com/2010/07/14/dell-streak-to-join-the-android-party-on-july-19th/
First thing to do when you get a new phone: case (learned the hard way, got some scratches on my phone) and a screen protector.
my droid is going back. i can't deal with an unusable -95dbm signal at my house. i switched to verizon hoping i would get better data service than this. i like the phone even though it can use some software updates on some things.
http://www.clearfreak.com/ Same type of material and protection at a lower cost. The only difference is that you need your own spray bottle.
Then you don't keep up with phones to much, streak is talked about pretty often. It's already been on the market in the UK for a month now
I had already crossed the Streak off my list, but when I saw it may be coming out in the next few days, I decided to go ahead and hold off on the Droid X purchase for sure. So what I'm doing now is waiting to see what the numbnuts at Apple have to say about the antenna issue. I really don't want to buy another iPhone, but... then I'll wait to see if the Streak really does come out here next week and wait for those reviews. Still not sure I want a phone that big, though. lol. Gizmodo basically ripped the Droid X a new one in a review. What's disheartening is that the camera is being called a bit lame by multiple sources. If they put that hump on the phone so they can squeeze a subpar camera on there, that sucks. Hopefully a firmware fix may help that issue out.
I recommend Steinheil Crystal for whatever phone you use. I've heard the anti-fingerprint versions are slightly cloudy. I've got the Steinheil crystal on my Incredible and you don't even know it's there. I cannot recommend it enough. I also have some tips on getting it on just right, as it can be a little tricky, but even I did it and once it's on you won't regret it. Anyways, today is my last day of my 30 day exchange period with Verizon. The bigger screen is very tempting and I nearly pulled the trigger. But between the amount I already spent on accessories for the Incredible, the new accessories I'd have to buy, the $35 restocking fee, and the difference between what I paid for the Inc and the X (I managed to get the Inc for $135) I'd end up spending somewhere around $180 for the exchange. And the verdict is still out on any problems with the X after real life use (although the reviews seems great), ie iPhone 4, so I figured a bird in the hand...
Hmmm....EVO...DroidX....Samsung Galaxy....AHHHHH Choices Choices Choices.... I was about to get an EVO...just waiting on my ATT contract to expire. GOod bye Blackberry curve.
Man am I the only one that thought the video I posted was funny? I swear to Jebus that I have to be the Rodney Dangerfield of this forum. Science H. Logic!
Sorry. I was on leave (vacation) at home in Houston for a couple of weeks. I figured it might've been, but couldn't find it on search. Cue the Price is Right losing horn.
Welp! HTC EVO it is! Best Buy was sold out, but walked into a Sprint store by my apt and they actually had one... apparently I was the first one to be able to walk in and pick it up non-preorder/list etc or something like that that the sales rep mumbled that made me feel lucky! Really amazing phone... Need to do a side by side comparison of specs but I feel like it trumps Droid X... same big screen, HDMI out, with the added front facing camera and 4G (which I have great coverage of in Austin luckily!) and ability to unlock/root/etc (I think!!). The thing is definitely a speed demon, though after the last three weeks of dealing with an iPhone 3G with iOS 4 on it (ASIDNASDIHSdgi;siabfiubsdf!!) and half a functional touch screen (constantly rotating while texting to have the keys I want available) I'm sure anything would. Really happy with the purchase so far!
