Not a fan of Warriors per say, but now living here I do go to the Rockets games and any others I can get to. What Cohan has done to the franchise has been almost comically bad, and now this:

There is a thread on this already, but I basically support what you're saying, except for... the word "attempt." It is more than an attempt!

Give the new owners some time before you kill them. A super rich owner (compared to just rich) doesn't mean a well run organization: see NYK, Portland.

Just saw someone posted Larry Ellison bid in the ESPN thread.
    Plz lock if necessary.

Like I've said before, the Warriors served their purpose in 2007. Whatever happens to them after 2007, doesn't really matter much.

So a franchise that has a couple of championships and hall of fame players served its purpose by winning one 1st round series in 07  explain please

Hey i go to stanford, and personally know one of the families, the Lacobs, who bought the warriors (they are alums). trust me when i say that they love nba basketball, have been longtime fans - dad was an investor in the celtics (with his good friend Wyc Grousbeck). ellison was super rich, but i dont think knows as much about the game as these guys, who are still filthy rich being involved in KPCB and Mandalay.

this was a great move. hard to approve from afar, but excitement around stanford and in the bay area is real :). lets give them a chance!

I read the interview with him. He certainly says the right things. I hope you're right about this new ownership group. The Golden State fans certainly deserve some hope. And really, let's be honest. When teams are poorly run, it hurts the NBA product as a whole and we all lose. The San Antonio Spurs have demonstrated what can be accomplished even in a small market if the organization is well run. The Bay Area isn't a small market. I'll be hoping to see a competitive team begin to emerge in Oakland.

absolutely, im here for two more years, so i'll be watching them closely. oracle's atmosphere really is something else - their reg season games are like TC during the playoffs, ridiculous. so ya, lots of potential - hope they make Dubs fans forget about Ellison.

Yeah would be nice to have a committed owner on the other side of the Bay for once. First step, clean house. Every one in the front office needs to go.

As a warriors fan, anyone but cohan is great!
While I'm sure the new owners will be 100x better than cohan, especially when he fires Robert Rowell, Riley, Nelson (and hopefully bob fitzgerald too) most of us wanted Larry Ellison.
Despite the fact that he is known to sometimes be a dick, jerk and egomaniac, Ellison is also known to be ultra competitive, will stop at nothing to win and has the resources, intelligence and determination to achieve his goals. Just look at his efforts in winning the America Cup (record spending, developing & utilizing cutting edge technology, even the use of lawsuits, its clear he does whatever it takes to win.
