Seems like they focussed more on the quality and the image of the actual video itself rather than Trevor's improvements. Good luck, Trevor.
Call me crazy but I like Trevor Ariza. The people who are over-critical of him have no idea the insane transition he made last year. From being a 6th man playing with some of the best players in the NBA to being a go-to-guy on a average team is impossible. I cannot stress enough how unbelievably difficult that is. He had some bumps in the road but anyone who didn't expect that is delusional, especially for MLE money. He may never be a star but he will be a damn good role player. Good luck Trevor.
I won't call you crazy because I love the dood. His ability to hustle all over the court for rebounds and steals are great. He runs on every fast break and has great stamina (ok Swoly). I think he's scrappy and has the kind of heart Rocket fans love. Well, the ones that don't judge him after playing half a season in the wrong position.
It's like Lowry - when Ariza is hitting his shots, you absolutely don't want to take him out of the game, because he can handle the rest. Yea he can't dribble, but our previous starter at the 3 can't either.
some people amaze me. "its nice to see trevor working on his game" after watching a clip. of course hes working on his game!! its his job lol. what else is he going to do? it happens every time. after someone post a video of yao working out and getting his leg strong.... "yao looks like hes working hard". these guys most likely work their butts off all the time, we just done see it. they are professional athletes and get paid millions of dollars. to me, they arent getting paid millions to play the game, i think they make their money during the offseason workouts and practices. these players have to be in tip top shape to play this game and it is their job to have their bodies in tip top shape. that is why they have their own little personal trainers and the rockets have a training staff.
Nice training clip. I always think Ariza is talent. He got that hoops, speed and strong body to do everything. Only one thing would stop him to be a great player that is his emotion and basketball love. I hardly saw him enjoy playing the game. Maybe he's too much serious or what. Even in this training session, he's looking like stressful. I hope I'm wrong.
i think we'd like to assume they all train hard during the offseason, but the truth is not all players are like this. In the past there's been players who clock out when they play the last game and then pretty much just show up to training camp. I think now it's harder to do that because coaches try to get guys back in the gym during the summer and there's more peer pressure from teammates to do it as well. However, there's still a difference between working out when the team calls you up and working out with your own trainer/people. Its refreshing to know guys are arent waiting for organized offseason team workouts or training camp. I think we have a good group, so we dont have a lot of problems with this, but every season you hear about players elsewhere coming in very overweight or in poor cardiovascular shape. he's just a serious guy, you probably won't see much during interviews, but during games you can see some of it come out. I dont think it's necessarily a bad thing or necessary to show emotion. The day he stops doing the little things, won't dive for the ball, wont hustle, etc. thats when his love for the game may be fading.
why does his trainer training to think like he's a star player? gosh. i like the 250 jumpshots to start. now increase that to 1,000 a day and just do that. forget the other stuff. you ain't gonna get better at the other stuff.
Trevor needs to start for this team and play the bulk of the mins at the 3 position. He knows what it takes to succeed, especially in the post-season.
I think he should focus on his defense more.....nah im just playing i hope he improves alot and i know he will do good next year
Now he does need to focus on his on-the-ball defense and sometimes he makes bad choices on when to risk going for the steal, but overall I love what he brings to our team.
i guess he should train some of his: Defense (hustling), more gym workout if possible and just focus on his shoots We will be watching you
