Is the Droid Incredible = Droid 2 or X? I'm confused from Verizon's site, lol. All I see is Droid Incredible dropping on 7-27.
Droid Incredible is already out, Droid X is coming out next month (forget the date) and Droid 2 is coming out in August.
Droid 2 is rumored for August and will have a physical keyboard for those who insist on having one. As for Android 2.2 (Froyo), supposedly it'll hit the original Droid in late July and the Droid X and Droid 2 in August (Droid 2 will have it at launch). HTC will apparently update their Android phones to 2.2/Froyo in early Q3.
Motorola: Droid - this one's been out (physical keyboard) droid 2- august? (physical keyboard) droid x = july 15th (huge touchscreen 4.4") htc makes the droid incredible which is pretty much like the HTC Evo for sprint. i hate htc crap. features > build quality.
Uh-oh. Droid X 8MP camera is DESTROYED by the Iphone's 5 MP camera. http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2010/06/28/image-iphone-4-v-droid-x/
"UPDATE: As we mentioned in the post we did not change any of the default settings the DROID X was using when taking these photos. Thanks to an astute commenter, it was brought to our attention that the DROID X defaults to shooting in 6 megapixel mode and not the full 8 megapixels." Though I'm still not sure, if it's better than the iPhone 4s. The iPhone4's camera has taken some amazing looking pictures for me.
uh-oh Droid X can make calls no matter how you hold it, which is the main reason to have a cell phone in the first place right???
Im by no means an Apple fanboy, but I must say that the pictures Ive taken with the iPhone are very nice. I dont think you can ask for much more from a 5 MP camera. And in regards to call quality...I have yet to drop one call in the 5-6 days that Ive had the phone. A huge step up from the one call a day I would drop with the 3G.
Anyone else have the Droid Eris and update it with the new system update? It essentially bricked the phone and I was wondering if anyone heard if Verizon or HTC is doing anything about it? Or are we just stuck in our contract with a piece of **** phone?
you can get it replaced, I haven't come across people that had it "bricked". It's still under the 1 year warranty, unless you jailbreaked it.
It's legit. And maybe 'bricked' was an overexaggeration. It works, sort of. Having it replaced by the same phone will do no good. It is an issue with the new OS update. The phone was fine before they released the update. It's all over the Verizon and HTC forums. It's not a minute thing that's happening to one or two people, it's affecting everyone with an Eris that updated.
I'm curious if that really is the main reason anymore? Not that it being a secondary reason would make the iphone's drop call issue any better...
I love my HTC devices. Switched from moto devices which gave me nothing but unbearable heartache from the v300 all the way to the razr (had to have all moto phones replaced multiple times. I was about to purchase the droid until I felt how cheap it felt in my hands. The plastic seemed loose and cheap wraped around black painted edgey metal. They keys were difficult to operate for me. So instead I bought a HTC Hero and loved it. It had a much higher build quality to it, and asthetically it was much more pleasing to look at than the droid. Oh and as for the incredible pretty much being the Evo. Not really. -4.3 inch screen compared to 3.7 -HDMI port compared to mini usb -Higher resolution video capture (HD anyone?) -1 gig rom vs 512 mb -4g vs 3g phone -1500 mah batter to the 1300 mah battery -Front facing video conferencing camera as opposed to none on the incredible All for the same price. In the very basic of ways they are similar, and the Evo's Black with red accent is much more appealing. Not to mention that the kickstand makes it much more easy to show video's to people.
Really good point... never thought of that before, but of all the things I use my iPhone for, actually talking on a phone call is down there amongst the least... Text, Browse, Maps... it's just my computer on the go... Never really thought of the dropped call thing as a big negative issue because I just don't care. When I do have the occasional call drop (1 per 3wks maybe??) I just shrug and call back...
Droid X review I forgot to post yesterday : http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/01/motorola-droid-x-review/
So anyone getting one tomorrow? Sounds like you should be able to just walk into a Verizon store and pick one up I take it? My iPhone 3G touch screen is dying a slow, painful death. Started with just one spot, then a whole column and it's about 50% unusable now so I actually NEED a new phone. Was going to get a iPhone 4 but it seems they're all sold out still.... so, decided to jump ship to Android with Droid X tomorrow. Now that I think of it, it will be really nice to actually be able to send a text message or make a call at big events like ACL or UT football games where every mother ****er there has an iPhone...
i am thinking about picking one up tomm to try out for a month, if i can find one that is. i am just tired of crappy call quality from the iphone and or ATT.
