How come a lot of people want to trade Walt Williams. Walt Williams is the 4th or 5th best basketball player on the Rockets. He is such a great shooter and he adds veteran leadership to the young Rockets. Walt Williams was hot towards to final 15 games of the season and he will continue to be hot next season if the Rockets don't trade him. When the Rockets started Kelvin Cato, Kenny Thomas,Walt Williams, Shandon Anderson, and Steve Francis the Rockets won 10 games and lost just three. I want Walt Williams to remain in the starting lineup. Some people say he isn't starting material but he is. One more thing how come Walt Williams is called The Aging Terrapin of Maryland. ------------------
The Lakers won the championship with AC Green starting at PF. AC is now unemployed. Walt's contract in 2 years is huge (in the 6.3 million neighborhood). If we don't get rid of him, he actually could get in our way of signing Webber. He's inconsistent, and doesn't play defense, and for the first 60 games, didn't play offense either. ------------------ The more lefties on your team, the better. Collier is Seven Foot and Left Handed. How can you go wrong? Trade or bench Kenny Thomas.
I agree with NIKEstrad. One more thing how come Walt Williams is called The Aging Terrapin of Maryland Because he is getting older and he went to the college of Maryland. Which they are called the Maryland Terrapins. ------------------ President of the Moochie Norris FAN CLUB
I like Walt, just not his contract, nor 3 of the same topic! ------------------ We need some meat in the post and I don't mean Brian Grant! [This message has been edited by RocketsPimp (edited June 30, 2000).]
Why do I hear Webber over and over again? Who in the Rockets organization said they wanted to sign Webber? ------------------
Webber is just a dream.... a big dream ------------------ "Why can't we just get along"...quote from a scientist in Half-life 2nd edition.
The Rocks need to keep the Wizard. Walt is the indispensable big shooter. ------------------ I AM SPARTACUS
Walt Williams is not necessarily instant offense, although he doesn't waste time shooting the ball in an instant... I want Rashard Lewis and Bo OUtlaw, here, and hopefully the ROckets"s Brass do too... Forget Webber, I like him, but i think we would fare better with a young stud, future All-Star in Lewis, and a tenacious defender in Outlaw... peace ------------------
Doctor Robert-Does Doc Rocket count? ------------------ The more lefties on your team, the better. Collier is Seven Foot and Left Handed. How can you go wrong? Trade or bench Kenny Thomas.
BO Outlaw sucks. *whoops* (thx NIKE) ------------------ No signature for you! [This message has been edited by CriscoKidd (edited July 01, 2000).]
whoa, Crisco, at first I thought you were talking about the BBS outlaw. I thought you feuded with rimbaud? ------------------ The more lefties on your team, the better. Collier is Seven Foot and Left Handed. How can you go wrong? Trade or bench Kenny Thomas.
Webber chokes? Haven't seen much of that lately. I mean, there's always the timeout issue but this year Webber was clutch. ------------------ Member of the pro-Collier/Langhi movement. IN RUDY WE TRUST!!
Ok, what do we, as people who don't play in the NBA or really know anything about basket ball, actually know about Walt williams? We don't really know he provides vetran leadership, people here don't even know what that means, we've just heard it exists. We do know that he could not score when it counted, and he couldn't play Defense ever. Why on earth would we want to keep him? Becuase we've heard he provides intangibles? B.S. he sucks, he's old, he's expensive, and he has no clutch. He had a season to not give us what we needed, that's enough for me. ------------------
I wouldnt mind if we traded Walt, and I also wouldnt mind if we kept him. Walt was a big reason why we played so well at the end of the season last year, so as long as he continues scoring, it'll really help this team win some games. IF u trade him, you free up lotsa cap room. That's great. IF u keep him and he plays well, we will prolly win games. Also fine. ------------------ treasurer of the moochie norris fan club
I have nothing against Walt, but he absolutely has to be moved for cap reasons. On July 1, 2001, Walt's salary jumps to 6.35 mil which would basically put the Rockets out of running for Webber. Even if the Rockets strike out in the Webber sweepstakes, that cap room is still very useful as it facilitates making of trades and also the Rockets could just pick up a veteran on a short term deal as a stopgap and wait for future free agent classes. ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net
If Walt Williams is starting for your team you have problems. No D, terrible dribling, no rebounding. He can shoot lights out sometimes which makes him a good 10 min. a game BENCH player. His salary is going to kill the rockets next year if we don't trade him. ------------------
MY POINTS EXACTLY..... thanks people for seeing it my way Walt needs to go. Now someone please start a "GET RID OF MATT BULLARD" topic, and there might be hope for us yet ------------------
