Not surprised. I tried to get the Bobcats Sessions in a 3 way deal with the Rockets getting Chandler. Damn that the Rockets couldn't get involved in that! My original plan was Rockets: Chandler Bobcats: Jeffries, Sessions Wolves: Andersen (with the Wolves then singing Ridnour). Seems like the Bobcats ended up taking on MORE salary with the Dallas deal. (even with Dampier's contract coming off).
He's not great, and he's 5 years older than Lowry...and maybe not quite as good defensively. But in similar minutes they put up similar production, except Luke had a meaningfully better PER, fg%, 3 point %, effective fg%, true shooting %, offensive rating and defensive rating. Which is why the Cavs offer for Lowry is pretty odd. They must see a ton of potential there. I would do, if he could shoot. But at this stage in his career, I don't see Kyle ever becoming a great shooter. Still the Rockets may be forced to match just so they can keep their MLE to use on another position.
Maybe Kahn knows Rubio is never gonna play there so he is loading up on bad contracts to force the team that trades for Rubio to eat????? I see no other possible sane reasoning.
IF we don't match the offer for Lowry then Sessions is definitely worth a look, he played pretty good for the Wolves last season if I do recall correctly.
Yep. I had the same idea (with Alexander Johnson's non-guaranteed contract also coming over the Minnesota for the salary cap math to work; also probably some cash to offset much of Andersen's salary). I'm pretty sure that Morey at least made that phone call. But, alas. No deal. NO DEAL!!! Too bad. It would have been better for Charlotte. Not so much for Minnesota. Oh, yeah, and Ridnour at that price was good value. The Wolves need a veteran presence in that locker room, and Luke can actually play. Too bad Kahn can't stop acquiring point guards.
Ridnour's PER, TS%, etc. all took a huge jump last year compared to the other 6 years of his career. Now, he could have finally figured everything out at age 29 or else last year might be a fluke. We will see.
