If Rondo gets 11+M, Why can't Kyle get 6M

If Rondo gets 11+M, Why can't Kyle get 6M?

They are very similiar in that both of them can't shoot and both is a good defender and both pushes the fast break very well. On defense Kyle is more physical than Rondo but Rondo gets more steals.
To me if Rondo can run a half court team in Boston, why can't Kyle do it in Houston, and Why can't we run fast break with Yao on the floor.
    I say we match.

I figured you'd say that, but Yao will not be in the game more than 20-25 minutes a night more than likely. That matches up well with Lowry's minutes in the game. With that said, when we have to run more half court sets Lowry skillset as a PG is more in line with a half court set than Brooks is. You can't even argue that point, Brooks was brutal in half court sets last season.

I said, and I quote myself, "I think Morey's plan was..." So if you want evidence, I can only give you an informed opinion. Prior to this off-season, Morey said that he would be re-signing Scola and Lowry. I don't think Morey would've said this if he didn't plan on backing it up. in Tornoto's case, they probably didn't want a bunch of draft picks for him, they wanted a contributor ready to play. As a caveat, I'd like to think Morey shares my opinion of Lowry, so in my own mind I could see it being a no-brainer to trade Brooks for Bosh and to retain the services of Lowry, as he is definitely the better point guard on our team(IMO).

    There you have it.

Don't compare Rondo to Lowry please. Rondo is better at everything except shooting.

Celtics deal with Rondo is one of the best deals.

I think the better question is if Darko can get 5 mil a year why can't Lowry get 6?

I think this will force our hand to trade Brooks because if we match this now, we have to go all-in.

The way I see this playing out is:

    1) We match the Cavs' offer sheet to Lowry.
    2) We match whatever anyone offers for Scola.
    3) We trade Brooks, Battier, Jeffries, Hill, Andersen and a bunch of attractive draft picks to New Orleans for Chris Paul and Okafor, with Paul committing to an extension in the process (max, I guess). In terms of draft picks: We have to do whatever it takes.

I would hope that New Orleans cuts Battier and that we can sign him back on, but that is just me hoping.

In that ideal scenario (for me), our roster would be:

    PG: Paul (34), Lowry (14)
    SG: Martin (34), Ariza (10), Taylor (4)
    SF: Ariza (20), Battier (re-signed) (18), Budinger (10)
    PF: Scola (34), Hayes (10), Patterson (4)
    C: Yao (26), Okafor (20), Hayes (2)

If Battier were not waived and signed back on by us, those minutes would be split up between Ariza and Budinger. I know that would be a lot of money for someone playing such little minutes behind Paul, but we need him as insurance, I think.

Either way, we are on the clock now.

    MATCH THIS DEFINITELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IF MOREY DOESN'T MATCH THIS, HE'S AN IDIOT.

3 years at 17 million is a bargain for Lowry.

If Lowry is gone, the Rockets won't win more than 40 games next year.

With the way the off-season has been going, I'm pretty sure we're in for a lame duck situation that not even Daryl Morey can prevent.

CP3, Martin & Ariza? With CP3 and Yao in pick & roll :O sounds too good to be true and I doubt Chris Paul would agree on an extension

Rondo is getting underpaid, while Lowry would be getting slightly overpaid.

Didn't Lowry say he wanted to be a starter? Cavs alreay have Mo Williams, I don't see how Lowry can take the starter job from Mo?

I guess it is all about the money at the end.
