Yep, teams are going crazy in this year, overpaying left and right.

I certainly did not see that coming.

    Well done Durv.

I would definitely match. I predicted he would demand more, but $6 Million per year isn't too much to ask IMO.

We can't get a better backup pg, especially with the guys we have.... he's just perfect for our team, and he was the reason we took Lakers to 7, they can't handle the 1-2 pg punch, neither can lots of other teams.

It's a lot of money, but I say match.

Cat, Totally agree. So it's a little higher than people would have liked. He's important. Match it.

#Cavs used most of their mid-level exception in the deal, which is for three years with a team option that could be worth $24 million.

I just think it is overpaying for his skillset, and that you can find a replacement that does about the same things as he does for a lot less $$$.

    Just my .02.

I understand Brooks' situation. so AB is likely to be a goner or he signs for a short contract.

Ok, I like Kyle but he was really bad in those playoffs and was NOT the reason the team took the Lakers to 7 games.

Come on now, he is not superman.

If we match him this means bye bye Brooks.

If kyle gets 6 then brooks wants 9.

It's strange to see a backup making more money than the starter.

Match now and sign Scola tomorrow. Don't wait for the market to determine his value. Offer 36M for 4 years. If not, they'll probably end up paying 11 or 12M a year.

    OUCH.

I think he's gone. As people have said $6 mill is too much for a backup point. If Morey were to trade Brooks then we could pay Lowry $6 mill. Lowry only shot 39% last year and can't shoot 3's. He's a great backup but not a starter (at least not when we have Brooks). Hate to see him go, though.
