If Tim Duncan and Grant hill sign with the Magic that means the Bulls will probably suck up the leftovers of Tracy Mcgrady and Eddie Jones not bad leftovers and maybe some kind of trade for Jermaine Oneal. Which leaves all of the other free agents in a mad rush to find a team willing to do a sign and trade…

Now if Duncan remains a Spur and Hill a Piston than McGrady and Jones go to Orlando and Chicago is Left with one of these remaining FA’s…
    • Reggie Miller (too old)
    • Jalen Rose Indiana: (probably will sign with Indiana)
    • Tim Thomas, Milwaukee: (Yes they would like to have him)
    • Rashard Lewis, Seattle: (If they sign Tim Thomas don’t need Lewis)
    • Glen Rice, Lakers: (Don’t need him on a rebuilding team)
    • Toni Kukoc, Philadelphia: (Would have kept him before if the wanted him)
    • Brian Grant, Portland: (Already have Elton Brand, Marcus Fizer)
    • Maurice Taylor, Clippers: (Already have Elton Brand, Marcus Fizer)
    • Derek Anderson, Clippers: (Maybe but not for the Max)
    • Ron Mercer, Orlando: (See Toni Kukoc)
    • Cuttino Mobley, Houston: (If they are smart they will... outside of Jalen Rose, Tim Thomas he is the guy I would want)
    • Austin Croshere (probably not with Fizer)
    • Mark Jackson, Indiana. (not)
    • Greg Anthony, Portland: (not)
So you see if the Magic don’t get Hill and Duncan then the Rockets may be in jeopardy of losing Mobley.

Grant and Tim where are you going this summer? I hope to Disney.

Good topic. Although my main priority (after the Rockets) is that the Lakers suck, Chicago sucking isn't a bad thing at all. I actually like David Robinson, so Duncan leaving would ruin his last few years for sure (wouldn't mind him finishing his career in Houston though). It would also rid the Western Conference of a Laker rival in the Spurs, which I wouldn't like. You also have to consider that Hill leaving the Pistons increases the chances of us landing a better draft choice (from Detroit). If it came down to it though, I'd rather a Duncan-led Orlando win the title over LA anyday.

I for some reason am also rooting for Duncan and Hill to sign with the Magic. I guess I just want the eastern conference to get better or something. It's sick how much better the west is than the east. Especially with young teams like us, vancouver, dallas, CLIPPERS? gettin better.

This is what all Rockets fans should want: Tim Duncan signs a one-year deal so he can spend one year with the veterans he likes and then see if he has any future in SanAn, something that apparently is very possible.

Grant Hill gives Joe Dumars a chance to prove the team is going places by signing a one-year deal, another big possibility.

Rashard Lewis, because he doesn't want to be in Seattle long but because of his restricted-ness he has to, signs a one year deal, knowing that his hometown Rockets have upcoming caproom. Another large possibility.

So instead of bidding on Michael Finley(who doesn't fit a need of ours) and Chris Webber(who is happy in Sacramento), we also have possibilities of Hill, TD, and Rashard.

I want the Magic to get better so they can beat Philly and the Bucks. With their records lower that means the Rocks get better draft picks whenever they give them up. Although with the Bucks pick being protected I want them to hang around at the 11th. [IMG]

I like your analysis OMR but I can't say I agree with you. I've stated several times on this BBS that I'd like to see Hill and Duncan sign with Detroit and San Antonio respectively. Yes, it may jeopardize our chances of retaining Mobley, but if they(Orl, Chi) give him more than $4mil then good luck to them - they've probably overpaid.

The best thing that could happen for basketball would be for Chicago and Orlando to fail miserably in their cap clearing, tanking (in Chicago's case) behaviour. Quite frankly, its a joke.

I don't care where they sign, so long as it isn't together. I'm here to win a championship and having those two talents together puts the magic in competition with the Rocks. We'd still whoop their *ss, but we'd only win maybe 4 games to 1, or something like that...
