twolves value trade exception more than anything houston could offer... how does that translate into the rockets could have "easily" gotten Al? in a perfect world a kid can trade another kid his Carmelo Anthony card for a Chris Bosh card...but in not so perfect world, which is where we live, the kid with the Melo card can trade it for a shiny rock another kid has. It's his decision. Maybe he prefers a shiny rock right now.
If you read up on it, you could easily see the Wolves didnt want any of our players, they wanted the cap relief, which we couldn't offer. Wasn't going to happen.
And Jefferson would have made us faster. Never understood this board's hype for Jefferson. There is no reason we want this guy.
Just because it's Kool-Aid time doesn't mean the Morey has to drink it. Al Jefferson won't put us over the top, but giving up resources to get him might hurt our chances of getting a real impact player. Again, it pays to be patient.
they did not want ANY of our PFs they wanted NOTHING but a trade exception and picks....only CLE, UTAH, PHX, and TOR had what they wanted
And what if Jefferson gets hurt which he has been prone to do? Do you know that Daryl and his staff haven't been trying to upgrade this team and came to the conclusion that Jefferson wasn't worth the risk? I think they have better plans in store, now if they don't happen, it's not because they haven't been trying. http://bbs.clutchfans.com/showpost.php?p=5406833&postcount=149 So..... What changed?
Huh - wha? AlJeff couldn't come to Rox on those terms - impossible without the ginormous TE. AlJeff is a terrific ballplayer and a lousy fit on this team. I am waiting for the right deal, and I am prepared to wait until February. Picking up BS 'pieces' is not my idea of 'commitment'.
Don't kill me but IMO If Jazz and Rockets meet in the 1st round, Jazz will beat the Rockets once again.
Getting Jefferson would not be a Morey type of move... with his contract, knee problems, and questions about his effectiveness post-injury makes him a very high risk player.
Jefferson has a decent contract. Kevin Martin had injury problems. Kevin Martin also has trouble scoring once the refs start swallowing their whistles in the 4th quarter. Seems kind of risky as well.
Wolves would save $13 million this year by trading Jefferson to Utah for the TPE + 2 1st round picks. If they had traded Al Jefferson to Houston for a package that would look like Hill, Jeffries, Battier (for whom the rebuilding Wolves would have no interest in) + picks, they would basically be paying $13 million for Hill.
everything in the west goes thru the Fakers... why we are not building a team that can beat the Fakers is beyond me... how are we going to neutralize Bynum, Pau and Odom??? We have Ariza and Battier to guard Hobe Brooks will run circles around Blake and Fisher But we have no answer for their bigs... if Yao gets fronted by Bynum or does not get double team (which the Fakers do not do)... the Rox are screwed!!! We need long and athletic bigs to play with yao!!
