KaiSeR SoZe shot me a heads up on this... free amazon prime for a year for college students with an .edu email address. Go here to sign up. www.amazon.com/student Here's more info about it. http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2123032 Enjoy.
Damn it! 5 hours too late. I just ordered something earlier for the first time off that site and could have saved some money possibly.
You get free 2 day shipping with prime. Normally it's $80/year, so this is a steal for all the .edu folks.
I have an .edu, but I just ordered some turtle beach headphones for my brother earlier today. Im tempted to change the address but I don't use my .edu too often.
You don't have to. You just need to have an .edu account to get the email so you can link it to your normal Amazon account. Be signed in when you sign up for it.
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!! If you already have Prime, you can sign up and get a prorated refund. I got 59 dollars back. Its all done automatically. All you have to do is sign up!!! Thanks OP
Thanks for posting this. It's very easy guys. Just click the link and tell it you want to sign up. It will take you to a sign in page. Just put in your sign in information like normal. Then it will ask you for your .edu information, school, major, etc. and will update your account to reflect the free Prime. If you already pay for Prime (like me) you should get a refund email to your email on file in like 30 seconds.
Also you can up to three (I believe) people to your trial at no cost. Just add the persons email and you each confirm each others birthday and that person gets in on the year trial. Plus I believe there is a three month trial for parents, which I think anyone can get in on cause they can't enforce it.
