so no one called jefferson and it looks like hell resign with them for far less money, what an idiot...he must have a conscious that told him he was stealing by being paid that much and sucking at the same time.

jefferson should resign for half of his money 3 year proabably 24 million from what i heard

tiago signed for 3 years 10 million from there MLE

means they can use the rest to sign ryan ricahrds and go after a small foward to back up r.j. i was hoping the spurs could go after josh howard but looks like hes going to boston

There's been so much hype about this guy for years so I'm pretty curious to see how well he produces in the NBA. I wonder if hes gonna get the chance to develop while competing for mins with Duncan, McDyess and Blair...

spurs could have enough money to bring shaq on board if take 3 million a year but I dont see a reason they should with the spurs having 5 bigs now

I bet they wish they had hung on to scola. But i like Splitter alot, real versatile for a big man.

Hmm pretty good deal for the Spurs. Splitter will make an instant impact, and is an upgrade over Blair. However to say he's on the same level as Marc Gasol is fairly ridiculous at this point. He's a good two-way player, however his rebounding sucks and he doesn't have a perimeter game. Overall, I think the Spurs might want Scola more.

If DM wants to rebuild, how about Scola for Splitter and a pick? Splitter is a C, so Hill would be able to slide to the backup PF slot.

well scola of course was the better player when scola and him were together in spain but splitter was younger at that time and had dramtically improved when scola left. I think Scola has more heart and tougher than splitter but splitter imo has the most pontential with size and how he moves so well for a big guy and could be better than scola in the next few years..sure he may not be a paul gasol but could possibly be as good or better than his brother marc.

One GM calls Spurs deal for 7-footer Splitter, "The best contract of the summer."

    This. I want a Splitter jersey. :D

But signing Tiago instantly makes the Spurs one of the top 4 teams in the West again, at least.

    Lakers
    Rockets
    Spurs
    Mavericks.

Sleep on the Jazz at your own risk. Jefferson is solid and Deron Williams
is the best player not on the Heat or Lakers.
