These guys are constantly being evaluated and some will battle each for minutes so it can be frustrating to a GM to not see his guys go out and play.

The funny thing is that it seems like every team has a consistent shot blocker except for the Rockets.

But whenever players are tired or challenged they revert to their comfort zone, JT's is:

Head down and attack the basket......

He was just doing what he has done his entire basketball life, he is just not good enough to get away with that consistently at this level.

Have you worked so hard and not had enough rest that it starts to effect your brain. If you have than you should know that whatever you went through isn't close to what these guys have gone through in a little more than 48 hours. They are exhausted and then they go up against a team that is as fresh as you can be and are pretty solid in their own right. I 'm sure Morey if he had time to think about it would retract his statement.

I hated JVG when he would say there's no excuse for being tired on the last in 4 out of 5 nights. It's just in your head. Of course it is in your head and it's in your body too. I would love to see JVG run his ass off like them and say it's just in your head.

What these guys went thru I can best equate with last year when we played great for 2 months without Yao and TMac and in spite of having the toughest schedule competition wise and the most ridiculous back to backs, 4 in 5 nights than any other team we started with an amazing 20-13 record. Causing people like Barkely to retract his statements of us being "turrible".

And then after that most amazing start we proceed to lose 16 of our next 25 against mostly inferior competition and the easiest part of our schedule as far as home games and competition and rest. Our 20-13 record quickly turned in 29-29. That was the closest example of what our summer league team just went through. Only our S/L team had it tougher.

Morey can say all he wants while sitting in his nice chair, he can do all the number crunching he wants but physical and mental fatigue takes it toll on anyone and that's what this team was going thru.

Obviously DM went overboard a little but calling him a douche is uncalled for

I have to say, I have been terribly dissappointed in J. Hill. I have never seen him play with such a lackluster effort and attitude. He still goes for rebounds and deflections with some effort but he has been beat down the court a lot simply because he didn't run hard enough or recognize his man in time.

But rest assured you guys. I know Jordan has more to offer than this and he is usually a much more energetic and mindful player than this.....albeit his game and his IQ is still raw.

My assumption it could be potential the Bosh trade that could have worried him and got into his head.
He should learn to deal with it.

Can you have a "raw" IQ??

Seriously, I think Hill feels overwhelmed. Adelman's offense is complex and he's also trying to learn the defensive schemes. We need to remember that this is his first summer league. We didn't have him last summer, we haven't had him through a training camp, and we only had Hill for the last part of the season, with little practice time. All he had to do was come in and play, learning on the fly. In college, I think he had three coaches in 3 seasons, or something absurd like that. So did Chase, but he was drafted by us and went through this last summer. I'd give Jordan a break, unless this continues through training camp and into the beginning of the season, then I'd start to freak out if he's expected to be our backup 5.

The guy has great court vision, definitely better than Rose's court vision.

What is he evaluating? We only have one open spot on the Roster.

We need a backup Center and a Backup for Brooks in case Lowry or AB get injured. There are no other spots available right now. If it were me (and I sure he is doing it) I would be watching every team looking to fill the back up point guard. If he can find a steal take it. I would invite Ishmael to camp and then to the vipers in hopes of getting called up. He can work on his shooting there which sucks big time and at some point he will get called up on a 10 day and then get a chance to make it.

I just think Morey was a little embarased to be talking about his team when they were playing so poorly. But as he said they work there guys harder than they believe most of the squads. So he should understand these guys are just tired. No biggie everyone wants to win. I would probably be the same way with my old teams. Be harder on them to others while inside you are really proud of there overall effort just wanting them to always be their best.

My observation of Jordan Hill, when playing under the basket, is that his big man defense seems to be non existent. On his offense under the basket he reaches up in an attempt to score but barely jumps but a couple of inches, if that. Yet when he is attempting a 15' jump shot. or a running dunk, his action and foot work is almost perfect. Does this tell us that he is certainly not a Center? :p

Yes, by "raw" IQ is something I think is a result of his relative lack of overall basketball experience. His skills are actually good for someone with such few years of organized basketball experience but he has always been a "project", although he actually has had production to suggest that he has a good foundation to atleast build upon.

I honestly have never seen him play like this though and it was frankly embarrassing at times the last couple of games. He still needs to gain some core strength and develop better court awareness but he's much better than what he has shown the last couple of days.

Chase has coasted probably more than Hill at times back at Arizona...........just sayin..........

I think his basketball intelligence is raw. i don't know if you equate to IQ but I don't think he has ever been much of a student of the game. I think mostly he has gotten by on his size and raw talent. I do think he is trying more now. And hopefully he wants to really learn. If he does I think he can be in a rotation. We could definitely use his size. But he just might be the guy we have to use to get that size.

I'm pretty sure he wasn't the only one thinking it... did no one see an increase in effort in the forth quarter?

Yes the other team was fresh, yes the guys were tired... I understand that. But that doesn't give them an excuse to blow off the game. The objective of summer league is to learn... I didn't see a whole lot of on court learning going on today.

It's tough love... Morey expects the best out of them. :)

I'd like to know when the last time was DM saw a team play three games in three days, going with pretty much the same starting lineup each game.

Might explain why he's never "seen the Rockets play this badly in a long time".
