    You never get it, ever.....

Von has no place on this team, not because someone is equal or on par, but because a good portion of his skillset or what he can offer is already being offered by others on the team.

It is not as simple as one player versus another, I am sorry you don't get that....

It is about the overall roster, JT is under contract, Von...when healthy is a better basketball player.

And yes, they both have really poor BBall IQs....very poor...

Von is a better shooter, is quicker, and has a better shot.

JT is stronger, has better handles, and plays better defense.

Not the same - different...but with one you don't need the other.

Do you understand what I am saying, or are you just going to continue to snipe away in an uneducated manner?

BTW - I give the whole team a pass because this was their 3rd game in 3 days....and the Blazers were playing their first.....but tired legs can be overcome with intelligent play....none of that from the guy this thread is about though...none.

    I perfectly get it
Von has as much to do with Jermaine, that they have same height, play the same position, as Daryl Morey and signing bloated contracts.
You can actually stop all comparisons by not listening and reacting to others. IMO a journeyman, he does not feel like a rocket, and a player who have developed under our coaches have different values to the fans. Real fans care about them more. What I don't get is the Von love.
Both have on and off games. Natural.

i was really impressed when jt went so hard straight into that guy for that block at the begining of the sl game with mavs. if he can create his own shot while scoring efficiently and play great hard nosed defense he'll be a great addition to our rotation. the passing issue at this point shouldnt be much of a problem. summer league is where guys are trying to get on a team so they try to do something with every touch they get. if he makes the rotation I dont think he'll play like he's trying to prove his worth as he has been in these last two games. plus his willingness to restructure his jumper and work on defense shows how coachable he is. i dont think he'll ever be a great creator for others but at the same time its unreasonable to think with nba talent on the floor he'll become a massive black hole who won't pass despite coaches telling him to.

I don't really like the term real fans or those that call others not real fans. We all take time out of our busy lives to post on a message board about our favorite team -- that's qualification enough to be a "real fan".

And some of our favorite players were journey men before they made the Rockets -- "Chucky Who?".

A guy we would "regret not resigning" because of "unlimited potential" with "elite NBA athleticism" is now an "end of bench guy"?

Want to know why you get so much flack? THIS.

Its not that you flip flop every 4 posts. Its that you make declaratory statements like "JT = poor man's JR Rider", reinforce your sentiment with 1,000 follow up posts that clog and spam the entire BBS. Then when eventually proven wrong, blow it off with something like "oh I only liked Von as an END OF BENCH GUY".

Oh for crap sake....Morey said he had NBA Elite athleticism...that is where I got it......he fits in very well with Yao Ming because of his explosiveness and quickness and his 3pt shot.

Becuase people don't understand the point I am making, maybe I am not being clear enough, or maybe some folks are just plain stupid, or really don't want to understand because they have some preconceived view and want to argue.

See, this is where the people not understanding context comes in, I said he was at MOST a $3 million a year player, that is not a guy that is more than an end of the rotational player....at best.

As for clogging up the BBS, this is a Rox fan site, I enjoy talking Rox, you don't like it, put me on ignore....no one will care.....certainly not me.

ok that term was not well defined. Knock on me. Still I don't get the comparisons, and the love for a guy who was merely a mercenary and not caring about the organization and system at all.
I meant as Rocket fans I find it hard to understand how somebody can adore other players and be really hard on certain players on our roster after each game.

Would it be better if I said some people are naive or just too stupid to understand?

Well I can't help it if that is the truth.....context is lost a lot around here, a lot.....

You can explain it in more depth but people only take a cursory look and toss it back at ya like it is gospel.

Whatever, I know what I mean.....I get in lots of back and forths trying to explain it in greater detail because people don't get it, or take it the wrong way.....maybe that is on me, I don't know.....

I like JT, I just think both he and Von are not very smart on the basketball court.

I would LOVE for JT to develop a little more vision, his athleticism could be huge for this team...we need someone like that, but until he learns to play off the ball and more of the team game, he is a D-leaguer ++++ type of player, not good enough.

And I think that Von fits better on a Yao oriented team.....if Yao is done, then I think JT fits better.....do you comprende?

bien.. It does not make him a lot better but whatever you say man. Personally I don't want to see that guy again until the end of RA days. He kinda burned bridges for me. Tons of guys out there.

It's probably the third one. We're all just too stupid. Please dumb down your future posts for us.

Want to know another reason you catch flack?

Its called elitism. Mr. Asset Manager.

You make video games for a living, grow up. You are not better than any of the rest of us.

I can understand folks that are mad at him for blowing up in the playoffs that was 100% stupid...but I also liked the passion, he was playing fairly well, and didn't want to come out.

Either way......Von or JT...both are FRINGE rotational players, if JT can just lift his head up when he drives the entire game would open up for him...he is great at makind the defense collapse, all he has to do is make the simple pass to the wing and soon that threat would make it easier for him to get to the rim where he is explosive and strong enough to finish.

Right now, he is trying too hard, and still playing dumb basketball, because what he is doing in the summer league does NOT translate to the NBA game, players are better and he will get his crap tossed back in his face.

He has to learn to play the team game, or his career will be over very soon.....IMO.

My man, I never said I was...I was saying it could be that I am not clear enough, but with all my posts I would think that the entire view would be posted.

Honestly, I think most folks that want to argue, just want to argue, no matter what is said.

As for flak, ok...been catching it for years, and am a bit tired of it, I got nothing bad to say about you CX, you have been on the up and up for years.

    LTF,

If you are going to do that, please post the entire thread for everyone to see AND GET THE CONTEXT OF THE DISCUSSION, not just a single post, that can be completely misleading and it is very Voldermortish.

Which team was that about, was that a Yao oriented team?

    Context is everything.

    Thanks in advance.

    DD
