How is that a 3-way trade? Timberwolves and Nets don't do any exchanging at all. It's more like two separate trades, and if so... I wouldn't do the trade with the Nets. Plus, does the trade with the Timberwolves work salary wise?
i was looking at it again and i doubt that the nets would do that trade cuz they are sending way more than they are receiving
I'm all for those 2 heading down here, but this is going to jack up the NBA and interest in many cities if these "superfriends" teams do well. Even if they don't do well, it may cause issues with the concentration of the best talent in the NBA in 3 or 4 cities.
This deal has Morey like tendencies the only problem is we know about it. DM always keeps his deals close to the vest. Usually when deals like this come out they are all ready dead and not happening. A good example is of that was the Tyson deal that fell through last week.
if it was a 2011 draft pick i would do it in a heart beat.. heres why jefferson is only 25 years old and 6'10, scola is 6'9, we gain an inch, become 5 years younger and dont lose anything skills-wise from the power forward position another reason, courtney lee is not a bad player at all and plus hes a true number 2 guard so if we give up budinger for him we gain a true number 2 but lose a good 3, butttt we already have a capable backup in battier. last reason, if the 1st round draft pick is 2011, we could maybe trade our new york pick and that new jersey pick if they arent high enough and maybe even crack the top 1-3. say our new york pick turns out to be number 7 and the new jersey pick turns out to be number 4, you could just keep those and draft our try and trade up for the 1-3. great player(s) regardless. and if we had to give up hill or taylor also in the trade we could get young in the draft with this pick or picks
As long as this came from an unknown Chinese BBS and not a Rockets player tweet, I'm okay with this thread!
Not a bad deal a all from Houston's perspective. I just don't think Minnesota is getting enough back. Maybe that pick is supposed to go to them (assuming this trade is based on anything resembling reality).
jefferson would be our starting power forward and back up center. jefferson = 4, yao = 5 jefferson = 5, hayes = 4 jefferson = 5, hill = 4 jefferson = 5, patterson = 4
we dont have to have another 7 footer behind yao just to have a back up center. if we got jefferson, or we got tim duncan, or garnett, or bosh, or any taller than average power forward who can play longer than 30 minutes a game = our "back up center". hill isnt our backup center because hes not good enough yet. hes tall enough, but he cant hold it down long enough. if yao had another season ending injury or had to miss at least 10 games or something, we could just stick jefferson at the 5 and move hayes, hill, patterson into the starting 4 spot and be okay. scola is a power forward only, jefferson can be a 4 or a 5. him and yao would be some big bodies in the paint together.
