thats actually a pretty decent pick up, i know some spurs fans have been waiting on this guy for a while. especially after we stole luis from them, their hoping this guy is better.
Congrats to the Spurs. Splitter is essentially the equivalent (talent level-wise) of getting Marc Gasol. He's going to be a very good player in this league.
must disagree vehemently. seen his games in person multiple times. does not have the toughness or rebounding ability of marc gasol, or even david andersen for that matter. "very good player in this league".......um no.
I dont know about that tiago is a very good defender, rebounder and block shot and very good around the rim if he gets a good jump shot then he will be really really good
He doesn't play the same position as Manu. What makes you think that?? This guy is suppose to be the future replacement for TD...
He was the spanish league mvp and lead his team past ricky rubios team to win the championship and was mvp for the championship he would of been a top 5 pick in this years draft and many past drafts would of been a lottery pick I beleive he is a rich mans Al Horford
Scola x2???? ive heard about this guys for years...sucks the spurs have him, them dang Argentines!!!!!
I think offensive wise scola is better because he has a better outside shot but i beleive splitter is great around the rim because of his size and skills, but as a 7 footer he moves really good which will be tough for teams defend with ginobili, parker and spklitter pick n rollin all game. Defense wise Splitter is better solid rebounder and shot blocker and pretty long he wont be a stopper or a presance like yao or duncan I still think Tiago needs to bulk a little more and work out that outside shot if he does that he can be a really great player and
from what i saw in 4-5 games, he is soft inside (especially on man D) and a below-average rebounder for a big man.....and his 5 and 1/2 reebs per game and 1/2 blk per game averages only seem to confirm this......and the funny thing is i was actually impressed with his mid-range jumpshot in those games!
Spitter may be a decent pick up but as the Spurs showed by being swept out of the playoffs this past season they are not contenders and Spitter does not get them back into contention. The core of the Spurs is just to old they have to rebuild.
Duncan can still give you 20 and 10 Ginobili had his second best season Parker had a bad season but still put up some good numbers and going to contract season should be pretty good jefferson had a bad 1st season like some other guys spurs have picked up in the past, will come back this season when resigned next week Hill is working on his defense this offseason Blair is working on his outside shot Got James Anderson the big 12 player of the year mcdyess can still defend and knock down shots Tiago will help the spurs alot being big in the paint and scoring in the paint Spurs will proably also get a SF like matt barnes to back up jefferson and most importantly MATT BONNER WILL BE BACK TO KNOCK DOWN 3's
but seriously doubt the spurs will not rebuild until duncan retires or contract wont expire and that will be the end of next year or even until pop retires himself or leaves
