I feel a 3 team trade in the works with Atlanta and Philadelphia remember Philly was going to sign Josh Smith once.

This is exactly why we need a multiplayer deal for a superstar. As it is:

    AB/Lowry
    Martin/Taylor
    Ariza/Buddinger
    Scola/Patterson
    Yao/Hill

That should be the rotation with Battier and Hayes coming in situationally for defense.

I know it was only one game, but Taylor was very impressive tonight. He has always been good going to the basket, just needed a jumpshot to keep the defense honest. Definitely the best player in game 1 of the Summer League.

Theres alot of tallent (pieces/youth/contracts) to throw around between those three teams. And Igoudala was a man Morey was after before Martin.

We need a trade. We need to go after a big trade to get "rid" of some of our assets. Hate to put it that way because I love all of our players, but that's the way it is. We have to make room for our young players.

I wouldn't say that Taylor or Hill necessarily deserve playing time. Both are 2nd year players who receive a little (but not significant) playing time in their rookie years and have yet to prove themselves. They still have to earn minutes. And as a rookie, the same applies to Patterson.

I'd be tempted to say that Chuck Hayes "deserves" more playing time than any of those players, but that doesn't factor in talent or player development.

So the guys who really deserve playing time are

    Brooks
    Lowry
    Martin
    Battier
    Ariza
    Budinger
    Scola
    Yao

Add in another big man (Hill, Patterson, Hayes) and you have your typical 9 man rotation.

I completely agree that is why one article claimed Morey had alot of numbers to crunch this offseason and i would not mind Iggy or Young or Smith.

i dont see the problem...one starter, one back up, that's 10...and you know Yao won't play a lot for the first half, so you need two guys backing up him due to matchup issues (hill for bigger centers and chuck for smaller ones), that's 11 guys..

the only log jam is at the SF spot with TA, SB, and CB..but i expect Taylor's time to still be limited here, but only so he can get a lot of PT in the NDL and keep expanding his game. I think that's best for him because he's got more potential to reach. Budinger on the other hand is what he is, you're not exactly holding back his development by keeping him as a back up for 15 mins a night, so i expect him to back up 2/3.

I think Taylor goes back to the D-league for a bit...just too many wings ahead of him.

    1. Kevin Martin
    2. Trevor Ariza
    3. Shane Battier
    4. Chase Budinger
    5. Jermaine Taylor

    I don't think you can play 5......

Where is Llull? Is he playing this season. Man what large potent assets Rockets have at hand this season to work with.

We have the deepest team in the league. Is too deep a problem?
