We all know for a fact that the Rox are intersted in Brad Miller, and Rick had a meeting with him already. We also know that the Rox would use the mle to acquire Miller, but what about Shaq. I dislike Shaq just as much as any other Rocket, but he is a big body that i think could still contribute something a little more than Miller could. He has shown interest in the Spurs, but wouldn't Houston be a better team contending for a title? and i think he wont be offered anything more than the Mle . Your thoughts?
In RA's system Miller fits the bill, if this was still under JVG which was slow tempo half court ball, then Shaq might have been the better option.
Would it be too much to ask for a guy who's not over the hill and injury-prone? But of the two, I guess I'd take Miller.
I have a feeling Shaq is going to Miami, so Miller is the winner in this contest. Miller fits our system better anyway and would probably come cheaper.
I agree MIller fits the system, but doesn't Patrick patterson fit it also and Jordan Hill, plus they are much younger? And dont we lack size when going up against the lakers and blazers and Mavs.. to me it makes sense and we make a run at shaq, 1 yr couldn't hurt and yes he is injury prone and over the hill, but he showed he still had something left this past season.
Shaq might be chasing another ring in Miami. I'd look for longer term. OKC drafted/traded for Aldrich. Krstic's their current starting C. They've also got Collison who plays minutes at the 5 and BJ MUllens who they drafted with a first rounder last year. Try to somehow pry Ibaka from OKC?, but they're stacked in all positions.
Shaq to Miami is purely speculation, and his agents or himself have mentioned nothing of him being interested in Miami, plus i heard that all they could offer him was about 1.6 million and Shaq would never play for that much. He has shown interest in Atlanta and S.A. , but i feel if Morey makes a run at him, we can get him, and as i stated, it would not hurt and he can split time with Yao who can't play but 25 min a game till like march.
SHAQ of course, how is brad miller a long term answer for the backup center. Nobody can stop shaq but shaq. Everybody can stop Miller.
Miller can shoot/pass, he'll be more useful at an older age than shaq who's dependent on his physical gifts...plus with shaq you gotta worry about his weight.
Yeah this is solely based on One year, I dont think Morey is dumb enough to sign any center like shaq or Miller for more then one year, maybe miller for 2 at most. And all this mention about the system, we dont need shaq for the system, merely to plug a whole in the middle and match up to bigger teams, i think brooks, martin, and company can handle the scoring
TITLE,TITLE...You're talking about a TITLE???? pshhhh..... Nowhere near buddy as much as I LOVE my ROCKETS! but no chance!
Your thread got closed, and now you're going spastastic in the threads of others. Nice... P.S. I didn't get the chance to "mock your words" in your thread. HA!
Lol... Dude there was nothing wrong with my thread. I'm a HUGE fan seeking for answers about the teams future. But you seriously think we'll contend with either Miller or Shaq? Can a fan just type his mind?
