I'm so bored, that I have to make some homer trades

    :D :D :D :D

Okay, here goes. I started out with a simple 2 team trade & moved on up to a 4 team/12 player trade. The 4 teams & what I believe their reasons for making the trade are:

Houston-needs a backup SG, another quality SF to replace Rice in 2 years & allow Nachbar to develop at his own pace, & reduce the long term log jam at PF.

Memphis-needs a legitimate center in case Wright doesn't return to his old form & was shopping Swift around, but would need to replace him on the roster.

Minnesota-wants to move Jackson & Szczerbiak, while getting quality replacements.

Orlando-needs some beef on the front line.

    Trade #1

    Houston sends Cato/KT to Memphis.

    Memphis sends Dickerson/Swift to Houston.

    Trade #2

    Houston sends Cato/KT to Memphis.

    Memphis sends Dickerson to Houston.
    Memphis sends Swift to Orlando.

    Orlando sends Miller/Sasser to Minnesota.

Minnesota sends Marc Jackson to Houston.

    Trade #3

    Houston sends Taylor to Orlando.
    Houston sends Cato/KT to Memphis.

    Orlando sends Miller/Sasser to Minnesota.
    Orlando sends DeClercq to Houston.

    Memphis sends Dickerson/Swift to Houston.

    Minnesota sends Jackson to Houston.

Trade #4-My favorite homer trade. :D

    Houston sends Cato/KT to Memphis.
    Houston sends Taylor to Orlando.
    Houston sends Collier to Minnesota.

    Memphis sends Dickerson to Minnesota.
    Memphis sends Swift to Houston.

    Orlando sends Miller/Sasser to Minnesota.
    Orlando sends DeClercq to Houston.

    Minnesota sends Jackson/Peeler/Szczerbiak to Houston.

Okay, so we'll have to give up some draft picks. That still leaves us with a 10 deep, future team of:

    C: Ming/Jackson
    PF: Griffin/Swift
    SF: Szczerbiak/Nachbar
    SG: Mobley/Peeler
    PG: Francis/Moochie

Hey! I'm sorry, but if something doesn't start happening soon, I'm going to do more of these trades. That's not just a threat, it's a promise. :D :p :D :p

I'll take any trade that includes Marc Jackson.

That guy is instant offense in the post!

    Better than MoT and KT.

Swift is a bonus rebounder. But, not sure we could ever get him.

Marc Jackson was highly overrated last summer. I mean, he sat on the bench at Golden State and he was very subpar at Minnesota. Dont be fooled by his rookie season. Look at his career numbers: hes foul proned, couldnt find an assist in Stockton's jock and blocks less shots than Kevin Willis!

I feel that the reason that he sat on the bench was because
GS didn't let him go and MJ was angry. Sure, GS had full control of
his contract, but MJ was pissed. So, because he didn't want to be there
    he smoldered on the bench.

I'm not sure about Minn. I'll have to check that out.

I know Jackson had problems with GS management. But the center in front of him, Dampier, while not one of the better centers in the league, isnt one of the worst either. If Jackson was that much better than Dampier, he would have been playing. I dont think management would sit a player at the end of their bench all year long just for spite! In my mind, he didnt play because he was not good enough. Even when he got to Minnesota, he never got into the starting lineup. Thats not saying much considering Nesterovic and Loren Woods are their centers!

Dickerson is not going to come here and be a backup.

Sorry, I disagree. Marc Jackson didn't want to play, and GS had him in the
"dog house" because of it. It's called "having a bad attitude."

Effort and motivation is key to playing well. So, if you have none
of those emotions, your play will suffer.

I feel the same about Marc Jackson as I did with Carlos Rogers,
Chucky Brown and Carl Herrera. They just have the knack for playing
in the post. It's not something I can put my finger on. It's something
    intangible.

Well, it's only his 3rd year. I hope someday that MJ can prove himself.
I know he's not been playing well in Minn.

Say's who? MD might have to settle on the back up spot in Memphis. His career has not sparked any kind of all-star debate as of yet. I like MD and I know he has had injuries and been stuck on a bad Grizzlies team but so far he is nothing more than a journeyman 2 guard. I know he would not expect to start in front of Cat.

From where I sat, upstairs in the end zone, I always thought Dickerson was a better player than Mobley. I think his defense is significantly better, plays a more team oritented game, and overall is faster.

I assumed that Dickerson was part of the Francis trade because the Grizz would not accept Mobley. Just my guess.

I think Mobley is a better shooter and has a better move to the basket.

Both have talent, butI think Mobley benefited from being one of the "cool kids" on the Rockets, and having a coach who believes in him and knows how to get the most out of him. Dickerson suffered from being on a a bad team. If they had traded teams, I don't think they would have traded statistics, but I do think they would have traded relative success.

I would love to see Dickerson back on the team, no matter what position he plays.

If the team didn't have Rice, Dickerson would be a great addition, able to get his minutes at the 2 and 3. Alas...it's not gonna happen with West as the GM and Glen Rice sucking up a spot on the roster and eating a ton of salary.

I pray that Rice can be productive this season.

Dickerson also has better range on his 3 point shot than Mobley but Cat can take the ball to the basket better than him and can pass the ball even though he doesn't do it much.
Mobley has shown to be a gutsy player in clutch situations while Dickerson tends to disappear when things get close.

And the Rockets don't need any more people who demand the ball when the game's close. Dickerson would fit in with this team incredibly well, better than Rashard IMO.

The Rockets will be in the same position if they don't find a way to dump either Thomas or Taylor. Thomas will be the disgruntled bench player on the bench not really producing looking for the Moochie Norris type contract. Taylor will be the wrongfully signed player coming off a injury unable to get significant time to show he's back from injury. If the Rockets don't trade 1 or both, they will kill the value of both. GS wound up with "something" thats why they didn't just let Jackson walk. The "something "they got was Dean Garrett. Here you have a guy coming off 16pts 9 rebs once starting and you match a teams offer then bury him on the bench while asking for a 1st rd non lotto protected pick from other teams. Thats why they are one of the most ridiculous teams in the league despite being in one of the best cities in america.

My simple solution while we're talking is the one that that I have been saying for a while now.

    Houston Trades:

    Maurice Taylor
    Kenny Thomas

    Cleveland trades:
    Ty Hill
Jumaine Jones and a lotto protected pick in 05 or somewhere

Cleveland gets a healthy young 4 coming off his best yr (Thomas) and another that still has potential , but haven't reached it yet.

Houston gets the so called banger in Hill(in the last yr of contract) and an atheletic fill in 3 (Jones) also in the last yr of contract. What this also does is free up time for Cato to backup Ming and Griffin giving him about 25 mins, enough to keep him happy. Hill can either be waived or kept. Its win win for both teams even though some people think we're giving up too much. One of the most important aspects is we get from up under Taylor's long contract the same time Francis extension kicks in. Hey if 2 of the most unmoveable players can be moved in Baker and Kemp, Taylor can be also.
