Cleveland has decided to sign and tade Lebron after all. Lebron will get a 6 year deal, instead of a 5 year deal. He will get slightly less than the max with a starting salary of $16 mil.

Heh. Heat ditching all their draft picks. This is just ridiculous.

    Cavs should've asked for Chalmers...

Good deal for Cavs, don't stay pissed, you still have a franchise to run.

I will root for Cleveland for to re-build and move on but it won't be easy...

    1) Trade for an established upper tier player

    2) Find a contender to take Jamison's contract even if its just for expiring deals.

    3) Release some dead weight like West and Gibson.

They should trade for Al Jefferson. Good starting point if you ask me.

Now where's everyone who said Cleveland would NOT sign and trade him? Of course they will/would.

Finally, the Cavs get some help!!

    - A huge trade exception ($16 million they can put to good use if they choose to this year)

    - Some first round picks!! (They haven't had a first-round pick in 3 or so years; the draft is a great way to rebuild).

I guess Dan Gilbert's b****ing to the basketball gods about LeBron leaving is starting to work out for him....

Great move by Miami it seems. Their 1st rounders are going to be garbage, and you can easily buy those kind of picks (their owner is a billionaire and they will be raking in cash with the trio. If rumors are legit then this isn't a bad core:

    PG: Chalmers
    SG: Wade
    SF: LeBron/Miller
    PF: Bosh/Haslem
    C: Johnson

They still need a center. If these rumors of Shaq and Wade are true, then Riley needs to write a book called "Building a Contender in 3 Days".

Figured Gibson would bite bullet and do the sign and trade.

In other news, does anyone else notice that when LeBron pronounces "Organization", he accentuates the "I" as Organ-I-Zation?

Just remember LBJ, there is no "I" in "Team".

i still dont know why people underestimated Pat Riley....the guy is very well liked around the league and especially among players...he's got a lot of pull...doesnt surprise me that guys are willing to come over to play for him...wade too, dont think he's ever had beef with anyone, so you have to great recruiters right there..plus Mourning...they don't need no stinkin' caravan!

To give them a 6th year and higher raises, so they can take less up front, so they can sign better players to help them win now.

Too bad Riley didn't recruit a damn thing. lol...

This was in the cards a long time ago. That conference call sealed it. They all knew what they wanted to do a long time ago. Bosh leaked that **** during the party haha.

Their picks will suck anyway. They buy higher draft picks from another team. The 2011 draft is not expected to be as deep, so more teams should be willing to trade their pick.

Too bad those picks are near worthless around 30 to 32 in the draft.

lol...i honestly didnt do it on purpose this time...it just popped into my head after writing about the Heat's recruiting efforts, made sense to include it......

unfortunately we dont have anyone like that to recruit for Houston. We've got legends, but these legends can't really identify with today's young guys...and they are cool basketball wise, but not cool in general, if you get what i mean....on the other hand riley and zo are.
